ESPN Pre-Season FPI Rank: 82
FPI Differential: +5.6
Win Probability: 58.4%

And here we are at the 6th straight game to start the season. When was the last time we played six in a row out of the gate? And without a Thursday game this year to break things up, the season is set for two 6-game stretches.

The good news is that this is one of only two conference games that we are favored in, so count this one as a W for sure. Duke is on the decline, and maybe it it time for Cut to hang it up?

I'm surprised the win probability is that low, I would expect it to atleast be in the 60-70 range. 80's I think is a safe, optimistic guess. With recruiting on the upswing at GT, UNCheat, and UM, I think Cut's time at Duke is coming to a close in the next couple of years.

We have to win this year. Recruiting will potentially fall apart if we don’t start winning NOW. This might be the highest stakes season of football we’ve had in a long time with respect to the impact that individual wins and losses can and will have on the overall trajectory of the program.

Losing and losing badly could set us back significantly (years). Winning and being competitive in the losses could catapult us to the next step. The question will be, how many do we need to win?

For me the answer is 6. Make a bowl, don’t get embarrassed by anyone, and you’ll see this rebuild really take off.

Then we will be right back where we were with the last coach.
Duke had a temporary rise in talent and capabilities a few years ago.
No longer…program is in total disarray right now, back to the old Duke again.
Cutcliffe looks tired.
Must win for GT imho.

NIU
KSU
Duke

Those games are all 100% must wins for the staff. Lose any of them and assistant coaching changes are imminent and Collins is more and more a lame duck.

Paterdouche will be Collins’ downfall.
