The Brent Key era officially begins with a Friday night lights style matchup at the Benz. I posted a bit about the publishing schedule for this season in the 2023 Pre-Season Probability Poll Discussion thread.

Unlike the previous few seasons, we aren't starting off with a virtually unwinnable game. Optimism reigns on the Flats and we have a solid chance of starting the season 1-0. Louisville will be breaking in a new head coach as well.

It’s still tripping me up that Louisville has the third best odds to win the ACC (tied with UNC) after Clemson and FSU. They’re kind of a blind spot for me in the ACC, but I guess they’re supposed to be kind of good this year?

is it just new coach optimism or a stellar transfer class, or what?

Yes, and yes. Brohm was 30-10 at WKU and 17-9 his last two years at Purdue. And they brought in about two dozen transfers.
Louisville was 8-5 last year, beat Cincinnati in bowl game at Fenway Park.
Not going to be a pushover, folks.

I think only Louisville and UVA don't have to play Clemson or FSU. Looking at their conference schedule, they might have the easiest path to the ACCCG.

I’m thinking it takes him a year or two to get his offense rolling. After that he will probably average 5-3 conference records.
