Last game: Virginia Tech
Next game: Miami

ESPN Pre-Season FPI: 47
GT / UNC FPI Differential: +3.7
A road game in Chapel Hill, who's in? The Heels had a terrible 2017, including being trounced by our Yellow Jackets. They've had some strong QBs under center in the past several years, but last year wasn't one of them. They look to be even weaker on their offensive front, as a unit that gave up 30 sacks last year loses 4 starters. Defensively they gave up over 30 points per game last year, so see, Ted Roof wasn't all that bad.
They expect last year's QB battle to continue into this season and bring a solid running back corps. In addition to their point-friendly defense, they have been dead last in the ACC against the run for 5 years "running." That obviously bodes well for us.
It is a 3 point differential in our favor in the FPI, so with the home field advantage this game is a toss-up on paper. Somehow I don't see it playing out that way.
