There just isn't any reason to worry about polls yet. Winning will take care of that, and if we can't win the next FIVE games we play, we don't deserve to be ranked anyway. If we win those and still aren't ranked, then there would be a reason to be pissed off about it.

Eh, if we're 6-1 and still not ranked, I'd say that's reason enough to be pissed off. And no ACC team should have to be 8-1 before cracking the top 25. 9 games into the year there probably won't even be 15 teams with 1 loss or fewer.
 
We should be ranked if we make 5-1. A few more teams in the top 25 should be dropping by that time. If we aren't ranked and we go 6-1, then there is a serious issue. It takes until about week 8 for the preseason polls to BEGIN wearing off. Sadly the preseason ranking bias never completely wears off because the coaches/press hate to admit they are wrong about their preseason predictions.

Disregard the polls all you want but Northwestern got more votes than us.

That's a catastrophic error in judgement, imo.
 
We need to beat Duke and Clemson before we deserve being ranked. Clemson, by the way, has to play Wake before they play us and could very well be a 3-3 team. My point is this: We may lose to Duke and Clemson and we need to focus on that rather than what a bunch of media twerps think. WHO CARES? But even if we do beat Duke and Clemson (and G-W) we will have beaten in all likelihood three unranked teams and while that's nice and would THRILL me if it happened, I still won't be beating on my chest and saying that we deserve this ranking or that ranking. After the Clemmons we have UVA and FSU. If we make it through all those then I think we truly will deserve national respect. Until then, I'm not worried about it.

For now, I'm worried about a team on our schedule that's coming off a huge win, is averaging 30+ points per game, has an experienced QB, and who is more fired up than they have been in about TWENTY years. That team is Duke but it's not the same old Duke anymore. We should all be extremely proud if we can beat them. To hell with the rankings.

Northwestern is undefeated.

There are a whole asspile of undefeated teams in the top of the polls that are going to dive as soon as they finally get their first, and second, losses. We'll hop them easily if we continue to win.

Quit freaking out, you weirdos. This is how it is every year.
 
I think we need to hunker down and intimidate those pollsters! Come on, we're getting caught in a classic trap. Got to focus on the lack of respect we're getting and just will us into the top 15. Come on, guys! Each week is important. Do NOT look ahead!
