I've asked for YEARS to be able to buy away game tickets in the official GT sections without having to buy season tickets. Atlanta is just too far away for me to go to *EVERY* game. And in fact some "away" games for me are quite a lot closer: Clemson, Wake Forest, South Carolina. Even games in Raleigh/Durham are about as far away as Atlanta.

FINALLY if you're an A-T Fund donor you can simply just go buy away game tickets. And proper flex packs without limitation like they use to do.

It's nice to have competence at AD for a change.

I buy season tickets every year (since 87) but can only attend one game/yr if I'm lucky (distance).

Back when Rice was the AD I could send back any home Tix I couldn't use for AT Fund credit. Braine(less) pulled the plug on that program.

I think I'll ask tStan if he would consider reinstating it.

I would much prefer to send them back then figure out what to do with them every year. Tech can donate them to soldiers or deserving kids.

I don't know when (or if) that program was ended, but it was definitely around after Braine left. I remember donating a ticket to the ND v. GT season opener in Sept. 2006. That's during DRad's tenure.

And I'd be happy for non-soldiers or undeserving kids to attend our games. We're not in a position to be choosy!

What about undeserving child soldiers?

I recall (but could be wrong) that the point credit for returned tix was stopped in the late 1990s. I remember writing Braine to consider reinstating it (don't recall him answering). The ticket office may have accepted donated tickets for a time thereafter but I actually didn't realize it.

I'll write tStan and post after I hear back.

I'm cool with that but I think the clear backpack thing could pose an obstacle. Then again, they are soldiers so mebbe not. Could go either way.

What's Stansbury's stance on keistering Chick-Fil-A sandwiches?

You can do this on-line through the ticket site & your A-T login.... or send them to someone if they have an e-mail.

Works really well.... I've sent 'em to relatives (esp nephew GT IM '87, No Dogs Allowed & we all have some), as well as to the veterans.

Thanks for the tip. This is preferable to stub hub or the NAT over on ToS.

Yep. I’m in the same boat as I’m in DC so can only go to 2/3 per year. Always give my extras to my small block unless they can’t use them.
Pretty easy to donate to veterans - even gotten some fairly heartwarming thank you messages from those who got to use them.
