Prayer Request (Former Player)

This is very distressing and alarming. A fit athlete- fit enough to even sign up for a Triathlon has a cardiac arrest?

What hope do the rest of us have?

I hope he recovers fully but (and sorry but I can't bring myself to click on a link to Caring Bridge - long story) I worry that he's in Caring Bridge. I thought that no one who comes into Caring Bridge leaves through the same door. I've lost a few folks in their care - Angels, they are.

Keeping him in my thoughts.

Sounds like it occurred *during* a triathlon. In a way the fitness actually works against you in situations like that, because you're fit enough to push your body past its limit, especially if it's hot out and there are other people around pushing you forward.

It's rare but not uncommon. Death rate during a marathon for males over the last 30 years is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/100,000 participants. Triathlons probably aren't far off from that.

I understand about not clicking. As of now he is scheduled to be released from Shepard center early September. He is a fighter and his wife is a very strong lady.

Wayne is a super nice guy...too nice to be an OL. Glad to see that he is getting better.

I am praying for him, his wife, and his family. I hope every body will pray for my wife, my family, and me, too. We all need each other's prayers every day.
