Prediction Contest INFO....

I put up a few NFL preseason games to test the software since we are running Vbulletin now. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU PARTICIPATE. This will allow us to fix a problem you may be having w/ your computer prior to the ACTUAL CONTEST.

If this is your FIRST time OR you just can't remember how you did it last year :laugher: take the time to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS which are located at the prediction contest site.

Remember that the score MUST be entered by 11pm the NIGHT BEFORE the game. The spread does not change so it is a good idea to go ahead and enter them early IMO.

This is our 5TH YEAR running the contest and I believe it is probably the best non-commercial contest around. You can look at the stats from the past 5 years (at the site) and it is clear that 60% is your goal. Last year NO-ONE got there.

I will put up the actual games probably around the 23rd providing the line is out at that time.

1. go to the prediction site and hit "refresh" on your browser, if that does not work then

2. log out of Stingtalk and then go to tools/internet options/ "delete cookies" (this is at the top of your browser)

When you log back in you should be ready to go

Logging all the way out and clearing the cookies worked for me.

It should be working now for everyone. I ENCOURAGE everyone to enter at least one pick to make sure there are not problems w/ their computer.

To our knowledge everyone should be able to access it now.

I take it the problem with the username is fixed? It logged my predictions under ContactBuzz - I don't think it's ever done that before.

There was never a problem. The old ubbthreads software allowed users to have a login name and a public displayed name. When we designed the prediction software obviously we picked the login name to be the name of record during the contest. Unfortunately some people used one name to login and another as their nickname... violating the "keep it simple" principles and these people were stuck with some goofy name of record for the contest. When we upgraded to vBulletin, your public displayed name became your login regardless of what you used before.

no of course this is for testing and the real games will be up on 8/22. The odds are at www.vegasinsider.com

as far as I know everybody is ok now. We had to tweak it a bit but now everyone should be up and running.

Let me know if ANYONE is still having problems.
