Prediction Thread: How many Chanesque games do we have this year?

I say 1, but if it doesn’t come by game 4, it won’t come. If we do have one, it will probably come against VT. If it happens, we will probably be looking at 2-3 more transfers in the spring.

My definition of Chanesque, is a game where our game plan does not work AND portions of the team only goes through the motions for the rest of the game. For example, against BC last year, we kept fighting and lost. Against Fresno, we just didn’t show any fight. That game was Chanesque, despite the lack of Chan.

If we have a Chanesque performance under Johnson, the players that lay down will not see the field again.
 
CPJ has run off and will continue to run off the weak, so I don't see any possibility of a Chanesque loss since all flavors involve either quitting, not showing up, or taking the foot of the gas.

That doesn't mean we won't get whipped or lose to a lesser opponent.

I agree on that. Doesn't seem like a guy that would even begin to put up with that. He'd likely put in the waterboy before he would.

I think the Fresno game did a lot of good. It gave CPJ a chance to address the issue head on, without having to endure an actual loss. It also gave him a chance to address the players who didn't quit. He needs to show those players how to help and motivate their teammates.
 
By Chanesque, do you mean we'll have more rushing yards than our opponents? All of the games will be like that. Come on people, move on. Chan wasn't the right fit for us, and probably will have success in NFL. I never thought the man was bad, or did Tech wrong. He wanted to win more, he just wasn't the right fit for college (Tech) ball. I blame Braine for the way he set up Chan's contract, and the way we had to buy Chan out. I look forward to having PJ on the flats, sounds like he can coach up SA's, and he knows the last game really matters to us. What I want to know is how many Johnsonesque games we'll have. You know, beatting our rivals, winning championships. Let's move forward, and for God's sake, forget about Chan. It's over. I think this is my first post. I love Tech, I have my whole life, and being part of the alumni is just a bonus. I grew up in rural Georgia, and found the best way to deal the worst dog fans is to straight up knock the sh*t out of them. How 'bout them dogs? Piss on 'em.

I'd say the first few may be until the team builds up it's confidence and takes on a new personality.
 
I have always called the "chanesque" game(s). The annual Chan Gailey debacle(s). I pray that there will be ZERO.
 
samsgt02, thanks for summarizing my feelings very well. For those that used to remember my rants on The Hive. I was beating the "Dave Braine is killing our athletics" drum since 1998. Dave Braine would **** up a two car funeral procession.

Much of my rants towards Braine got me my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th bans from the Hive. People should have listened. Worst athletic director in our history and its funny how Clough made him a top 3 highest paid AD's at the time for basically sitting on his ass and doing zilch.

Braine was not a good ad at all. He made a lot of terrible decisions. He was not well liked among co workers. Dang im trying to think of one thing he did do good. But its over now along with chan. Now we have d rad and pj. The future is bright.

well, here are some, based on the mission he was hired for, which was to improve NON-revenue sports:

improved womens tennis to the point where now we are competing for titles, ditto for volleyball, improved women's basketball, got track back on track, and dont forget swimming and diving. hired hewitt which got us to the Final Four one year. and more...

i know most of you dont care, but there ARE actually other sports besides football and basketball, and this is what Braine was asked to do... and he did it well

a bunch of complainers on all of these boards!
 
At max 1, after that CPJ will either get rid of the slackers or work them so hard that they wont ever slack again. Thats what i love about our new coach!
 
Braine nearly took our Athletic Department into BANKRUPTCY!!!!!

We got our first and only major NCAA infraction under Braine.

The guy was a douche. Thank god he is gone.

There's lots of opinions, but those are two inarguable facts.
 
One thing beej misses about not having Gailey is being able to use the word chanesque liberally.
