This nugget from the press release is awesome and hopefully will be reason for the mods to change the thread title at the end of next week:

Should Harvin be named first-team all-America by the AFCA (Thursday) and Walter Camp (Jan. 7), he will become only the third unanimous All-American in Georgia Tech history, joining Johnson (2006) and Ken Swilling (1990).

He’s a shoe-in for the Ray Guy award. They better not give it to the Mutt punter.

Also we had a nice run of AA’s from 1998-2000.
And one of them a Heisman winner that transcended pathetic material trophies.

I think Miami's kicker is the competition.

FYI, if Harvin lands first team honors from Walter Camp tonight, he'll be our third unanimous All-American in program history.

In college football history, only 364 players have been recognized as unanimous All-Americans.

He was named first team by the AFCA last week: https://www.afca.com/alabamas-devon...ine-2020-afca-fbs-coaches-all-american-teams/

I don't mean to overstate it and don't think that I am - it's truly one of college football's most exclusive clubs. For context, there are 997 members of the College Football Hall of Fame.

When do they announce the Ray Guy award?

Tonight on espn, I think. If he doesn't win, it is a sham. I do think he wins. 1 fan vote and 4 other votes, as I understand it.

Yes, though note that 'unanimous All-Americans' is a concept that the NCAA only starts recognizing in 1924. Lotta good players – including a lot of great Tech players – predate that cut-off.
