As Sean Bedford said, this was proof of concept.

Yet I wait for the negative Nancys to claim there was a lack of progress shown by the team today.

Be patient is all I can tell some of you. This staff is better than most of the teams staff.

This was a momentum changer for sure. Helps keep everyone on board and solidifies relationships with recruits. Build on it and go into UGA game 6-5. Why the hell not?

Really good win, but we still have a long way to go. Our OLs and DLs was still a mismatch against Miami. Recruit, recruit, recruit.

Let’s keep this game in perspective: It was a 3-3 Miami team, we only had 1 offensive score in regulation, and they missed 3 gimme field goals.

I’m really glad we won and this should build momentum and help with recruiting, but it’s not like we took down Clemson in the greatest football game in the modern era.

How many times did the offense fall over their dicks, have unforced errors on penalties, and called penalties that were nit-picky, at best? We can do this all night, if you want. We were a 1-5 team with a loss to the Citadel. This was as good a win as one could get with how far we were down on ourselves this year. Cut us some slack!

Why did you leave out what happened with the other 2 phases of the game for Tech?

People and coaches talk about a ‘team win.’ It’s usually crap or coach speak. Today, it wouldn’t be.

Miami was also gifted 4 points on their 1st possession. We also made a 52 yarder that was negated by a retarded penalty. We also would have had a first down on a roughing the punter, but a total BS formation penalty (that I didn’t see) led to a re-punt...which Miami returned inside the 15. We also owned the ball in the 2nd half and turned it over deep on Miami’s end when we were on the verge of taking a lead.

All I’m getting at is there were plays both ways. Don’t want to hear about their 3 missed FGs. There were a lot of plays in that game.

UM’s losses were by 4 to a top 10 Florida team. By 3 to a very solid UNC team, then by a TD to a now 5-2 Virginia Tech. They also handily beat a ranked Virginia team last week who blew out Duke today. This was @Miami...something Paul Johnson never did. I get they’re not Alabama, but the fans and players have every right to be excited about this win.

Proof of concept. The hard work by the team and coaching staff can result in positive outcomes in this league. It’s a major transformation, but progress is being made.

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but calling this a “program changing win” diminishes the value of our team. Beating a 3–3 Miami team would be program changing for Georgia State, but not us. We have more history than that.

I dunno man. Taking that game as a loss after being that close against a 18 pt spread could have been a spirit gutting that undermined the rest of the season. It’s not so much who we beat as it was the scenario in which we won.

I have no qualms calling it a program changing win now under the direction of Geoff Collins. This team more resembled a Year 1 transition instead of Year 0. We have a blueprint for success to build on against a prototypical team on our schedule.

I will admit that I (wrongly) did not think we had the tools to win this game, regardless of where the points came from. Look at the spread for this game and tell me this wasn't huge. We hadn't even covered the spread before this game and then we beat them outright
