Pronstache is new DC at Louisville

Good thing we play Louisville this year!

I wonder if Van Gorder will bring in a special defensive consultant to game plan for us?

How many times has this guy been fired? Looks like these head coaches would know better by now. The guy sucks, glad we have woody!!!

Impressive length...

I don’t think ND played us any better in 2015 than any other team that beat us really. I mean we lost 9 games and scored right around our average in those losses.

ND just was first in line to beat us. They weren’t special.

What Diseqc said. Also remember VanGorder consulted for UGA in 2016 on how to defend our offense, and they lost.
ATHENS — Brian VanGorder is indeed serving as a “consultant” to the Georgia football team as it prepares for Georgia Tech, head coach Kirby Smart acknowledged after Tuesday’s practice.

“I called him and asked him,” Smart said. “I thought it would be helpful for us, for this game specifically.”

Smart said VanGorder came on board last week. Georgia’s defensive coordinator from 2001-04, VanGorder, who had been Notre Dame’s defensive coordinator since 2014, was fired in September after the Fighting Irish fell to Duke, 38-35.

“He’s a consultant,” Smart said. “‘A consultant can watch film, can break down tape, can watch practice, observe, give opinions.’’

Smart said he thought about reaching out to VanGorder after his firing from Notre Dame, but decided to wait. He reached out to him a bit later, apparently with the blessing of defensive coordinator Mel Tucker.

“He didn’t come here until late last week and began work on Georgia Tech. He’s a part of that game plan,” Smart said. “He’s been very helpful. He’s very knowledgable. I’ve got a lot of respect for Brian. Always have, when he coached here (at UGA). Mel knew him when he was in the NFL, so they had a good relationship. And then he coached at Notre Dame, which plays the academies and also played Georgia Tech.’’

Always great to be able to beat a guy on the internet when we have never been able to do it on the field.

They had the advantage of beating us st full health but your point stands.

Didn't he get something crazy like $5 million guaranteed from ND?

Louisville and VanGoiter deserve each other.

ab-so-mother-f@@@in'-lutely.

actually met he who shall not be named (that's a shout out to the Ga Southern folks who still hate this guy and with good reason) once. Five seconds of my life wasted.

"We were already down a handful of players before we played against the Irish

Offensive tackle Chris Griffin (knee injury suffered playing basketball, out for season, had started seven games in 2014)

Linebacker Beau Hankins (undisclosed injury, missed one game, backup played special teams)

B-back C.J. Leggett (torn ACL in spring practice, out for season, had been expected to challenge for starting job)

B-back Quaide Weimerskirch (foot injury in spring practice, became cleared to play, had been expected to push Leggett for starting job)

Tulane (5)

Quarterback Tim Byerly (suffered knee injury in practice, out for season, dependable backup to Justin Thomas and short-yardage specialist)

Cottrell, Griffin, Leggett, Weimerskirch"
