These three played well Thursday night and little has been said.
Bowen was around the ball all night long and coming up to make tackles...I love the way he hits. Great reads and always seemed a step ahead of the offense. He had 5 tackles and 1 sack.
Claytor and Barrick both matured in really what was only their 2nd game....and played a lot of snaps. I also like the way Claytor seemed like a motivator on the field. He acted like a TB or QB....slapping teammates, hugging 'em, etc. Nic just has a tremedous personality.

Bowen reminds me of Reis...hard nosed guy who is always around the ball...Cooper Taylor fits the same mold. Blue collar football players.

Bowen clearly played well.

But Cooper Taylor reminds me of Ryan Stewart, James Butler or Dawan Landry.

I agree. Nick has really grown up this year and improved a lot in this blocking scheme. We also need to give some love to Tony Clark. He played great!

Not to rain on this props thread, the o-line definitely deserves a lot of the credit for our huge win on Thursday night but I have a concern that's been bugging me since the UNC losses.

Did UNC do something completely different defensively that prevented our guys from executing based on their assignments? These guys looked great against FSU and helped create huge holes for Jon to run through. CPJ said in his radio show after the UNC game that our guys missed like 40 assignments on offense.

My question is... what % of those missed assignments were because of what UNC did defensively? UNC seemed to definitely have a plan coming into the game and as far as I could see, while they weren't stopping us all the time, they stopped us when it mattered.

So yes, I understand that we had like 40 missed assignments on offense and like 20 missed assignments on defense but what are the causes? I have a hard time convincing myself that these guys who did so well against FSU and UM just blanked out against UNC. Does my concern make sense?

You gotta understand that the majority of our injuries on the line occurred during the UNC game. It felt like new people were on the field for each series of the game. UNC did not do that great to stop us...we still had tons of yards. Just dumb penalties and turnovers handed them the game and kept us from scoring. When new linemen are on the field all the time, you are never going to get a lot of momentum going...

Not only was this the second game for Claytor and Barrick...but we also changed our blocking technique for the two of them. We kept swinging and missing so much at the quicker DE's....we went to a more traditional blocking scheme for the OT's against Miami. Watch the film and you will notice it as well...Nic's mother said they were doing this prior to gametime.

Joseph Gilbert had some great blocks as well.

In the 1st series on the reverse to BeBe to the left, Gilbert blocked his man on the line and throw a cut block that knocked down 2 players.

Gilbert also had a great block on the Cox's TD

The whole OLine deserves some credit as well as CPJ/Sewak made some key blocking assignment adjustments

David Brown is apparently going to be back for the UGA game. Will he be starting?

Yes! David Brown was starting all Spring and all season. His injury won't affect his ability on how well he plays. IMHO I would think that the 3 will rotate.
