punter Brooks ready to take game to next level

Most folks don't realize how valuable this guy was for us, especially with our offense the way it was. He'll be missed big time.

How high can a punter reasonbly expect to be picked in the draft? Or, IOW how high can Brooks expect to go?

For the uninitated, TECH has a history of good punters.

Well back before Rodney

Ray Guy was a first rounder. More likely is a second-day pick like what Wake Forest's punter got a couple of years ago.

I was going to mention that. Of course, it was by a maverick owner like Al Davis--and everyone at the time called him absolutely insane to take a punter so high, but in the end he was correct.

I truly believe Ray Guy should be in the HoF, as an aside. I know he was a punter, and the HoF should be for "real football players," but Guy won many games for the Raiders with his punting. If I had a vote, he would definitely be in--of course I am not a football player, and RM or one of the other players on here might disagree with his HoF candicacy.

Ive got to question anyone who wouldn't vote Guy into the HoF. Kickers might be, as a general rule, the woosiest guys on the team, but kicking is a big part of the game. Do they have the same skillset a hard hitting LB has? No, but neither do the return/speedster specialist who can only take a hit or two a game.
