QB Lucas Johnson Makes It #17 For GT

From Mt. Carmel, CA... Isn't that the town where Clint Eastwood was the mayor?

Oops, Mt. Carmel is the high school - I misread it; he's from San Diego.

Gonna need some wide receivers for this boy! And dayyum he can run! Great get!

Great arm, great wheels.

Be interesting to see how he does under center but he has the tools.

WOW. I guess I don't watch many highlight tapes or anything, but this kid looks insane. Most of his throws were on the money. Almost makes me wonder why he chose GT. Looks like a shoe-in at QB IMO.

Either way, great get. Looking forward to seeing Mr. Johnson on the flats.

i think he knows one RS year and he has a great chance to be the starter.... Jordan is not the answer...and the other guys will just ask inexperienced as him come fall.

Agreed about Jordan. Would love to see L. Johnson and C. Campbell battle for the QB spot.

It would be interesting to see what Jordan could do with decent blocking. JT didn't look like the answer either this year.

It's too early to judge Jordan. He is quick and physical enough to do the job. His problems this year were mostly decision-making which isn't surprising for a redshirt freshman.

Plus, he was playing behind our OL.

It's not just you. I've watched highlights of every QB commit we've had under CPJ, and many recruits that we didn't get. This guy looks as good as any of them, including JT (who was really just a runner w/ a strong arm in HS). I hate to say it, but his tape reminds me a lot of Vad Lee. Vad may not have bought into our system, but he was deserving of the hype, which he proved at JMU.

I am lost as to why this guy isn't highly recruited, being 6'3 with that kind of speed and arm. Looks like a 4* dual threat QB prospect if I've ever seen one.
