Courtany dalcourt- was offered the day of fan day. Would like to play qb in college. One of my favorites at this position. As of now we have a good shot. Dontae aycock- a great player from the state of Fla. Most schools want him at rb. Hes the younger brother of dwight smith. Were not as high on him as we were. He is set to take a offical visit though. David sims- hes not as high on us as he used to be. Wants to play rb in college now. Good chance that he goes to nc state. Ricky johnson- very fast player. I think hes almost a lock to commit if LSU doesnt offer him. Tanner bryant- local player. Not getting a lot of attention due to him playing baseball and not being able to let college see him pratice. He is one of the fallback guys.

Left off Ej Banks- very long shot to get him. Hes a top 100 player at db. Also Everett proctor- even though hes commited to nc state were still going after him. If we have a good season it may sway his commitment. Marsailus teague- qb from tennessee. Runs a similar offense in high school. We are really high on him. However i dont think we stand a good chance.

i think we get dalcourt and johnson.

That would be my two guesses as well and if we do get them then we are most likely done with Luallen in the fold. good job eric.

Amazing what one off season can do to change your views of what used to be a weak spot on our team. In PJ's first year the spot has quickly become a spot that is not as big a concern as it was year in year out under Gailey. Hear me out this is not me coming on here to bash Gailey. We have him and Giff to thank for the 06 class and Nesbitt being the foundation on which to build. Thank god for that class sprinkled in with some top players from other classes.

The QB spot "on the surface" looks to be what will soon become one of our strongest points. Right now the future seems to be the brightest at B-back and rightfully so with it being the featured back. It would also be right to think that the QB spot should quickly follow suit and it looks like it is shaping up that way. All the staff needs to do is finish out the class with really any of the two guys Eric told us about.

This theory would be golden if just recruiting the players was all it took to get the job done. It will be interesting to see in the next few years if this offense will kill our QB's at this level or will it be just like any other team playing any other style of offense at this level. So far so good.

i would think that it is easier to sign several guys that are "between" being a standard QB and a WR or DB, rather than trying to sign one of the few true "pro style" QBs, so we SHOULD be doing better here. its not like we are signing the Tyrelle Pryors of the world...

also, remember that had Chan not been fired, we basically had one of the top QBs in the country in the bag.

that being said, i think it is smart to have a system that does not require a player that there may be only 10 of in the whole NCAA to be extremely successful. so, i am very excited!

I agree with your last statement. I still think that the Renfree boy would have lit this offense up. The boy was 4.55 speedster. I know his dad wants him to be a pro style kid, but with speed like I think he would have been really good here. Hell he probably would have had a better chance running our offense and making the pros then running whatever Duke will.

Renfree was the top rated QB. He was ranked 10th by Scout. He left once PJ was hired do to offensive philosophy.

If having no offers and being unrated makes you a top QB then hand me my Heisman.

do your homework! one star means not yet evaluated
and look at the schools he is talking to.

why do you have to be an ass about it? insiders at Tech had been talking about him for the last two years

he only was an All-State QB in Georgia and is prototypical size for a pro-style QB (and has a 3.8 GPA)

BuzzCzar,

While I agree about the non-evaluation. I have to disagree about Little. He was one of the kids in the pipeline for us while Gailey was here but I am not sure if some of that interest was not because of a couple of WR's that we were after, one in last years class and one in this years that played with Little. Little does have the measurable but something is missing in his game. I am not an expert but these recruiting coordinators at major universities are and none have offered Little. Kentucky was the closest but they just got commits from a 5* QB and 4*QB in the past week so that is probably no longer an option.

since he was no longer an option for us, i stopped tracking him, so i dont really know his status right now. i will take your word for it, i just didnt like the tone of the other posters response.

folks had been talking about Little for a while, i guess he never has developed into what people thought. also, there seems to be more of a premium on guys with mobility right now.

i dont know if Little is still good, i know that when we were talking about him 2 years ago, he was being mentioned as a future star...

thanks

Unrated meant unevaluated the way I meant it. I'm well aware of the fact that no one gets less than two stars. Stars don't mean crap to me anyway. Having no offers does.
