I was watching some Taison videos. He has quick, compact, throw. He stands in the pocket and has a feel for the pressure, makes a move away from the pressure with his eyes always downfield, looking to make plays with his arm. Then he makes a play with his arm.

Then, I watched Jeff. His throw is more of a low hold, with a round wind up and throw. He seems to pull and run quicker as opposed to finding the receiver.

All of this is probably based on the OL blocking with the exception of the throwing technique. Taison seems to look like a capable pocket type of QB.

If they don't work on his release or his footwork, we'll have our answer early in the season.

It's spelled Taisun. Just remember it is an anagram for Unitas.

Why couldn't he get time at Clemson last season, as bad as their QB play was?
Valid question that many people had, but FWIW, he suited up last fall after recovering from a torn Achilles during their spring game. Many expected that he wouldn't even be available at all last fall, and he didn't have much development because most of that time was spent rehabbing.

I agree, but be carefull the Geoff Collins supporters think Sims is winning the Heisman this year. IMHO going into his third year it looks more like his ceiling is Reggie Ball not Joe Ham or Shawn Jones. Whoever is the QB I hope Chip Long can improve the O as I need Geoff Collins to work on the defense, that has been the weakness the past 3 years under this HC, even though that was his calling card before arriving on the Flats.

Again, you still are taking folks the wrong way. I don't know of a single person that is a "Geoff Collins supporter" in the way you make it out. Nobody is putting him on a pedestal or for that matter even happy with what he's done here. It doesn't change the fact that he is and will be our coach for 2022 so we GEORGIA TECH SUPPORTERS are supporting him, and the team. I don't think you'll find a single person defending him or thinking we should keep him if the same continues this season. And Sims looks like his ceiling is Reggie Ball? Not real sure what you're smoking but Sims stats have been much better than Ball's ever thought about being, and that's been playing 2 years behind a busted screen door for an OL.

If anybody knows anything about throwing it is Coach Wienke. That man can do it. Not only throw but his fake handoffs are impressive. I think that based on having him as coach we will see a higher level of play and gamesmanship than we have seen. Although, I thought Jordan had a lot of that stuff going on. He wasn't scared to get in the mix. Since he is now at SFA, I hope to watch him play this fall.

A Heisman winner can throw. More news at 11.

Can he teach it tho?

The fact that you got through this entire thought without mentioning Weinke even once has brought your street cred to absolute zero.

I think Chris Weinke improves sims and I think we see a whole different team on that football field this year, not saying we will make a bowl game but I think this is the year that sims turns the corner

Sims had no coaching last year. This year, he has Long and Weinke both of whom know their fate if we have another bad season.

Sims is going to light it up this year.

Enough of this gloom and doom nonsense.

What our QB's need is a leader. One that instills knowledge and discipline. Which in turn produces confidence. We haven't had that. I think that coach Long and Weinke bring that. It will show up on the field and it will shock our opponents.

Like Mike Tyson says, "everybody has a plan until you get hit in the mouth". So let's get behind these men and start developing a winning, kick some ass attitude around here. I choose to believe in anybody that comes to TECH and puts on that uniform. Up with the White and Gold!
