Gibson is one of the more intriguing names in the transfer portal. He wasn’t a full-time starter for the Zips last year. But he played like one of the nation’s elite quarterbacks while he was on the field, drawing a 91.2 PFF College Grade for the season.

The 6-foot-3, 209-pound redshirt sophomore finished the 2021 season throwing for 1,262 yards and 10 touchdowns without an interception. He also averaged eight yards attempt. Gibson has drawn an 87 rating from 247Sports’ transfer ranking team, which ranks him as the fifth-best quarterback currently in the transfer portal just behind Myles Brennan.
 
Canceled his Nebraska visit so hope we get him. Something clicked for him last year, so I don't see him as just depth. Believe he has 3 years of eligibility. Was a third year freshman because of a RS and Covid year.

he got picked up and dropped a couple of times in our fantasy league. so there's that.
 
Don't be surprised if the QB battle between Pyron and transfer this off-season is for the starting role. Sims will get the first looks, as he should, but needs a lot of work to be the guy Long is looking for and could easily find himself in a doghouse.
 
Harrison Bailey sounded good on paper, but apparently that is no longer being considered. From what I understand he wanted the same thing he wanted at UT, and that was to be guaranteed the starting job.
