DE Antonio Wilson of Columbia will be visiting as well...it will just be unofficial because his paperwork has not cleared The Hill despite his 3.9 GPA, high SAT, and current acceptance and commitment to Vanderbilt. This means he cannot do all of the dinners and stuff like that. Thank you Hill for your continued bureaucracy!

Scout list Antonio as having a visit on 2/1 to GT. I don't think they list unofficial visits, so maybe things have been cleared by the Hill. The kid seems to have good measurables and he's in our backyard. This could be a good late pick-up.

He is a project...he has only played 4 games of football his entire life. He was always a basketball player...but the high school coach talked him into playing his senior year. He played 4 games before an off-field injury sidelined him. I was told he had 11 sacks in those 4 games. Definitely looks like he has some upside.

So if football doesn't work out, then maybe he can walk-on the basketball team! :-)

I guess since he has a 'ship offer from Vandy that it's unlikely to get him as a "preferred walk-on". But maybe he's worth a shot given the number of available 'ships at Tech now.

That's the kind of risk that's worth taking. If the kid has the physical tools but doesn't have the experience, it's something the coaches can work with.
