Question about Deuce (likely for demjackets)

After watching my recording of the game, I noticed something that I hadn't at BDS. Deuce was charged up, emotionally. He was almost tearing up and he looked mad. Was this just him getting ultra pumped, or did something go awry?

All I know is he probably knew Clemson gave that game to us and he wasn't happy with our performance. I hope this is what he conveys to the team, because this past game was less a Tech win than a Clemson loss.

Fire away.....

Choice was emotionally drained and thrilled. He poured his heart and soul into the game and charged everyone else up, even while playing hurt.

He was not disappointed and it's asinine to suggest he was.

Does this sound like disappointment?

"Our defense did a heck of a job today. Coach Tenuta and those guys played great. Philip Wheeler, all of them, my hats off to them for playing a great game."

Or this?

"I addressed the team before the game and told them that we work so hard, and there are so many things that we do that people don't know about. A lot of dedication, and I really wanted them to understand that my life is based around football, and all I have is those guys in the lockerroom and everything that I do out on the field is for them. It's not all about me. Once they understood that, my teammates really rallied and played for me. "

I'm pretty sure the UVA game would've been a lock if he had been in there uninjured for the whole game. To have him in the huddle talking the guys up and helping with confidence is something that really can't be measured or quantified.

He just brings a SWAGGER!!!!!!!!! that brings up the rest of the players and you can't question his leadership.

i'd made a post about this last week but everyone was so upset with the loss it got loss in the shuffle.

TC is an emotional guy, he let the team know all week he was good to go, even though most of us could tell he wasn't fully healed. He didn't want to let his guys down so he went out and played for them. At halftime he let the team know he wasn't at full speed and told them he needed their help. After the game everyone grouped around him and he started to cry, he loves these guys. He's the leader of this team and he did that in a big way Saturday. Hopefully this team is rejuvenated for the rest of the season, Tashard is still looking for big things and hes making sure his teammates do as well.

What a load of crap. You sire are a dawg under cover!

I mentioned in my report last week he was gonna play but at no way full strength even though he kept saying he was. In the paper though he is quoted saying he lied all week to everyone, he wasn't at full strength.

Ramblinwise... you're throwing around that insult with little restraint. I can see how you could have percieved this as a negative post. I assure you that this is not the case.

I do, however, appreciate your associating me with royalty.

There are some bigger, some that are faster, some that are more elusive, and some who may be better blockers, but I wouldn't trade the Deuce for anyone. That man is a football player.

Here is what Choice said:

"I lied the whole week, but I had to," said Choice. "It was absolutely hurting me to watch my teammates struggling like they've been. All the hard work you put into the season, to not be able to be out there fighting with your teammates is hard. This game I was only about 80-85 percent, but it was good enough to play and stay on the field, so I was glad I could help."

He will be closer this week, he said he was fine today. He was getting treatments done, and looked good.

Cox was also emotional, but not in tears....he was enjoying the win on the sidelines, jumping up and down, slapping his teammates' backs.

They didn't think the game was given to them.

Thats b/c alot of Clemsons bad plays were due to us playing well. We should be giving us more credit too.

Unfortunately, this urgency should have come after BC not UVA.

That 2 losses will be too many IMO....

Choice's runs late in the 4th quarter are some of the most inspired runs I have ever seen on Grant Field.

Everyone knew he wasn't at his best but mentally, he made his body perform at a level far beyond his ability given his injury. I was amazed and I've seen a lot of amazing stuff.

I hope he's healthy when we play Uga.

I, as I'm sure a lot on this board, want to thank you for keeping us posted on what goes on behind the scenes. It gives us a better understanding of what is really going on!

Thanks!!!

You could tell he was winded most of the game. That meant two things: 1.) He was giving all he had. 2.) He wasn't fully ready to play. He's all heart. I can't wait to see what he can do against the Turtles after a full week of conditioning.

I just hope he's not nagged all season like Michael Johnson was last year, and Joe Anoai & Eric Henderson the year before. He deserves better and needs to dominate this season. I want to see him on Sundays.
