It seems many times the GT jet sweep action (with WR or RB running between QB and center) was problematic; especially as the snap was made as our runner was crossing through. In fact, this seemed to be the reason QB King mishandled the snap near game's end pushing us out of FG range. Why do we make the snap so close to the runner's passing through? Seems like the risk outweighs the deceptive effect. Help me understand why we should continue to do that?

Probably was unwise to do it in that circumstance but there is also the possibility for the guy in motion to take the snap directly which is another threat the defense has to account for

Weather impacts. Pressure of situation makes people have different clocks. Just needs more time. Some of the stuff we did bad will get better. Some of the stuff that looked amazing won’t by the end of the year.

Many times? More like one time. The timing is crucial but the motion is what sets the plays up and keeps the defense from keying on certain things. It doesn’t work without the motion.

Part 1 is for a lot of the Same reasons Paul motioned his Abacks. Sets up multiple things within your offense, Counters, Sweeps, Tosses or in todays era (Touch Pass).
Part 2 is depending on how the defense reacts it tips their coverage or gives us a leverage advantage in the run game. There was a beautiful example of it that I recall against FSU. Can’t remember the time period of the game but Tech had trips to the field side with a tightend in the slot so four guys to the field side and they motion RB haynes to that side making it 5 of our players to the field, maybe to make it look like a set up a screen to the RB. pre snap FSU shifted a defender making it 5 on 5 to the field but also 5 on 5 on the boundary side, Tech makes FSU think play is going to the field but the result is every defender in the box was accounted for and blocked 1 on 1. Haynes looked left and scrambled right. All that presnap and eye candy for what was like a 6 yard designed QB run but that’s why they pay these guys the millions.

Spot on. As soon as they motioned 5 right I knew pre-designed king keeper opposite side. Well designed if defense shifts w the motion. They did.

As said earlier, motion really slows down Lbs who have to stay home. That hesitation gives OL time to get helmets on them for qb read or keeper.

Side note: questioning buster at this point is akin to trying to understand why Sydney Sweeney (note, no relation to Dabo) wants to jump your bones. Don’t think about it, just relax and let it happen.

Our entire offense revolved around jet sweep motion that game. If they can't adjust, just keep doing it. It's a good series of plays.

Good to see beej!

Yeah basically. Everything in the PJ 3O was "force them to react to orbit motion, key your plays off that reaction." We're doing the same thing with the jet, seems like.
