Question about the option vs BYU

I hadn't seen this variation in a while (that I can recall anyway)....On several occasions, it looked like we brought the slot back in motion, and just as he was behind the FB (or TB?), the play started and he (slot) became the pitch-to running back.....

I wonder if we'll need to see more of this for the remainder of the season, to compensate for what could be less speed in the TB position -- I'd LOVE to see "Fred" take on the pitch under this scenario, and/or several other receivers....

I liked that play a lot as well. We ran it a few times to Kelly Campbell for good success as well when he was here. I hope that this play is in the playbook for the UNC game. You gotta think that the coaching staff is going to find even more ways to get the ball to playmakers like Watkins, Glover and J. Smith w/o Hollings in the backfield.
