Question about the seats in BDS

I attended my first game of the season last night (I live in NY) and I noticed a relatively empty area in the Lower East Stands around the 50 yard line. Most seats had chair backs. My question is why was that section of prime real estate not fully packed? Does this have something to do with pre-assigned alumi seating who simply don't show up to the game? If so, that's pretty lame and we should somehow review this policy...

That's the club section, installed in 2003 with 2,000 seats. There's a nice lounge with TVs and beer. Many folks in the club section leave their seats for extended periods to sit in the lounge. Many of the seats are corporate seats. There you have it, even with ~95% of the section sold, you'll have about half the seats occupied at any given time. It's even worse during a hot, sunny Saturday afternoon.
 
Generally Chan holds those seats for people who post on the HIVE.
 
Thanks. I thought I had heard something about that but didn't know the full story.
