It's not often that a team loses 51-7 and beats that same opponent the next year.

In fact, I don't think I've ever heard of that happening before.

What's the greatest bounceback victory ever?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the Miami game would qualify. I went in 04 when we were spanked at BBD. Our victory in Coral Gables should prove that theory.

That was a 27-3 loss, not a 51-7 loss, but it's a good start.

What's the greatest bounceback victory ever in Tech history?

Don't know, but in 2003 clemson beat us 39-3, and we came back the next year and beat them at their place.

A few I've come across...

Dook
2003: 17-41
2004: 24-7
41 point swing.

Maryland
1994: 27-42
1995: 31-3
43 point swing.

Holy shit. Duke put 41 on us? Oh god, let me put my head in a paper bag for about 2 days. I'd been blanking that one out...

Miami was a 24 point loss
Dook was a 24 point loss
Maryland was a 15 point loss
Clemson was a gooood example. 36 point loss and we won the next year.

But 44? That's a righteous asswhoopin to bounce back from.

Personally I think that teams like Duke and MD. shouldn't matter. Those are the losses that make my stomach hurt. As basd as it was, losses to teams like VT and Miami are the ones that we weren't expected to win. Duke was a fluke. Everyone knew that GT would not stand for another loss like that. Beating Miami after we were spanked holds more merit me thinks:biggthumpup: .

What's the greatest bounceback victory ever?
Chris Dimino's "Fact of the Day" today was:
GT has won it's last 5 games against opponents whom it lost to previously by 20 or more points.

Noooooo. THIS Is Smart-Aleck

1915 Cumberland DNP
1916 GT 222 Cumberland 0

Wow, thanks mm42.

82 point turnaround, huh? I say we fire Chan for not putting up another 27 on VT!
