The VT thread got me thinking about if there was any team in the ACC better suited (than GT) playerwise for PJ to have taken over last December. Clemson with Spiller, Davis and Harper as a base to start from? (This O has me more focused on GT than normal and so I am less familiar with the rest of the ACC than normal so I need help to answer my own question).

I will say that in previous years I noticed that Gailey signed an awful lot of light (they were always described as 'athletic') OLmen IIRC which perhaps turns out to be very lucky for us. I expect that FSU, Clemson, and Miami with their five star recruiting classes were taking 300 pound monsters. Obviously the occasional 320 lber moves like a ballerina, but it isn't common and i doubt any of those teams would scrape together a line any better than we have for this system.

clemson...or FSU

Clemson has..
QB- willy korn
RB- James Davis
RB- CJ spiller
RB- Jacoby ford

FSU
QB- devonte richardson
RB- Antone Smith
RB- ty jones
RB- preston Parker

Honestly though, we might be the best suited team in the ACC for this gig. I like what we bring to the table this weekend in blacksburg.

GOO JACKETS!!

Nice post. I had forgot about Ford and that is probably unforgiveable but on the flip side I'm not sure Spiller is a willing blocker.

Also, one would probably rate our defense as better, particularly our red zone D. Unless Clemson was to take to the O unusually fast, I'm not sure we don't have a D better suited (a) to carry the team early and (b) to minimize the damage from turnovers, particularly ones in your half of the field.

So far FSU looks solid on D based on not much for data.

As the Clemson-Alabama game showed us, Clemson's front line is currently majoring in croche and ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. I don't think they're tough enough to run this offense.
