Question on Ugag’s onfield tendencies….

What are some of the tendencies that Ugag has when on defense and offense that we should be concerned about/interested in exploiting? A few come to mind for me like:

- The screen pass on third down (a staple of the Richt regime)
- More blitzing and less of a read and react game from Martinez since the UF game
- Consistent and successful use of the TE (when Tripp Chandler doesn’t drop it)
- Exploiting the vertical routes more this year
- Running straight up, have not seen many guard pull plays (but I could be wrong)

Anyone know a little more about the sets they run and their playcalls, anything that can give an insight into what Tenuta and Bond might be trying to neutralize and exploit?

I think Curran vs Cox is a key matchup to our advantage since Curran is very undersized, however I am concerned that they might put 8 in the box and try to make TB throw it. Also their slot receiver (usually Henderson) vs our nickel corner, I am trembling at the thought of Pat Clark playing here hopefully we go with Avery (with Burnett and Jahi starting).

I am looking for more specific analysis (on sets and tendencies) beyond generic statements like “we must run the football” or “win the turnover battle”. Also are there any wrinkles that Richt might be saving just for this game, like Tressels’ 4 receiver look inside the 5 yard line, a formation that he saves every year for the Michigan tOsu game?

A few observations:
- Their QBs are always great at playaction fakes.
- That fullback of theirs is a beast in goalline situations.
- Tight end will probably be runnin free down the middle of the field like usual
- They have one DE that looks like he goes about 225. We should run at him.

Agreed, their D is alot more aggressive 2nd half of the year. This is due to more confidence in their CBs.

They are an i-form play action team. Need to stop the run first...that is key.

They are using S. Bailey and G Henderson on deep go routes. This is a problem...our CB's are susceptible to this as we leave them on an island and rarely play cover 2 with S help.

TE, it is a worry, but not a main one for me.

Screen plays, they run them...but we have been covering those well lately.

Their OL is young; I would hope we could confuse them early. Expect quick under passes early with Stafford, sucking our cvg up then they will throw the bomb.

FB on short yardage is a tendancy.

Keys:
- No TO's
- Solid deep ball cvg
- Shut the run down

We do this...we will be in the game. Win it; I don't know...but in it yes.
