Question regarding Capital One\'s Mascot of the year...

Monte the Grizzly of the University of Montana was named the Mascot of the year.

Can anyone tell me how they selected the winner besides the onlone vote.

I know Buzz was in 2nd trailing only the Nittany Lion.
