Quick recap of the game and I'm pissed at the defense.

Offense, you rock. Each and everyone of you. Bebe and Nesbitt players of the game. Not much to add. Offense looked crisp and well executed. We are starting to become unstoppable.

Defense, before I go through playa by playa. lets talk about Wommack.... You are horrible in every way imaginable. You've seen much of the offense thrown at you tonight for two years yet you had no answer. Unreal. Really, you can't go away fast enough for me. We're losing 3 more games this year with this defense. Awful coaching, awful preparation, and awful personnel decisions. You sir... SUCK!

Now onto the players and the PLAYAS.

Ebiguniwe: Great effort. Played solid.
Anderson: You're average. Step it up
Peters: Doesn;t need to be playing DT
Barnes: Where were you for this game?

Morgan: You played through non holding calls and double teams all night and still was the only Dlineman who regularly brought pressure.

Walls: Kind of disappointing tonight for someone who impressed earlier.

Jefferson: Move to Muscle Beach in California son (ok so I stole this comment from Wesley who called me during the game), because while you look great in a uniform, you have been absolutely no where this season. Every tackle I saw you in on, you were behind the play. Not good. Very disappointing. No nose for the ball. None. You can't scare an offense from looks alone.

Sylvester: needs to see the field more.

Burnette: bad game, but thats ok, you are a playa.

Griffin: Senior. We need you to step up more.

Butler: You had your first awful game of the year. I'll give you a pass.

Tarrant: If I see you line up as starting Cornerback again, I'm going to puke. I would however love to see you start at Free Safety.

Reid: Keep it up. You will eventually play the position that you need to play which is Tarrant's corner spot.

Morgan Burnett: disappointing just because we rely on you so much to make plays, and when your linebackers totally leave you out in the cold, its easy to have a bad game. Can't fault a guy who is in on everything.

We need to start playing some freshman across the board at some positions especially linebacker because if we're going to continue to get crap results, why not get some guys who may actually prove to be worth a shot.

I'de also like to chime in on this: My son and i have watche every game this seson..of course. He looked to me and said "who is # 54?" i said Sed griffen.. he said what i thought he was gone- hadn't heard his name all year. = sum!!!

Morgan B. If you would keep your head up more you would make more tackles (that we desperately need) NFL is not for you next year. Play better now!

B. Jefferson: My Gawd son do you ever get off a block? You have been pancaked 4 times this year by fullbacks.

Tarrent: Sir have you noticed you have been picked on by every team this season and you are consistantly 3 steps behind every receiver.

Barnes was very active early, per Wes Durham, from what i heard

*Tarrant is a safety i agree
*Peters was a high rated END out of high school I don't know why hes there
* To add to that Ebiguniwe emergence, might halt any move back to that

I know it was bad but I still think we will end up better on Defense

Tarrant needs to stay with his man and act like EVERY play is going to the guy he defends.

The line needs more pressure, and our defense as a whole needs to step it up. For crying out loud, they ran some of the same plays we do. Wommack, open your eyes. You complicate stuff and make our guys confused, then you don't make adjustments where they're needed. We did amazingly the first half defensively. NO EXCUSE for that touchdown in the 4th. Burnett, you had an off game. Butler, nice interception, but to the both of you: WHERE WERE YOU ON THOSE PASSES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!

Should have been 42-24 in my mind....

anyways,
a win is a win is a win... we're 4-1 now... hopefully we can make it 5-1 next week...

Jefferson is so overrated its disgusting. Guy looks good in a uniform. He gets by from his physical attributes because if he was the size of Sed Griffin, he wouldn't be playing D-1 ball at all.

We did not force a punt once! This team is awful at throwing the ball and could get a 10 yard completion at will. Horrible effort by the defense. Got bailed out by stripping the ball, otherwise MSU would have had 60.

I think what "might" be an issue is that most of our linebacker group was recruited for Tenuta's scheme. One thing I see here is that they seem to be fairly clueless on pass coverage, perhaps a symptom of players who were mostly taught to blitz. Mainly the linebackers seem to mostly be big slow guys who might be able to run through a line but can get danced around by Lucas Cox. Main proof I have for this is that the true freshman Burnett seems so much more athletic.

I have to agree. We are ridiculously light on defense.

Barnes, Started Great, but yes, it seems that he can't got the whole game.

Egbuniwe: Sorry, I disagree. He is good on certain types of plays but he was a big problem for us on the option. His head is down and he went for the back on the option every time, and their option is run 4 yards away from him.

DT's: Non-existent.

LBer's: Non-existent.

Tarrant: Non-existent, should be a safety.

Reid: Non-existent, should be a CB.

I am scared to death about our defense coming up. WE HAVE TWO ALL_AMERICANS ON OUR DEFENSE AND LOOK JUST LIKE OUR OLD ROOF DEFENSE. TWO ALL-AMERICANS!

Our tackling is horrible too, just horrible.

Congrats to a win on the road, we do have to remember that.

Agree on what most have said. Offense played great until those last two possessions. The passing game came alive tonight or we would have been whooped.

Defense looked good early in the first half. Lineman getting good push. Then we come out in the 2nd half and it looks like they have been smoking reefer all halftime. No push, no hands up on passes. Looks like they are running in mud. Linebackers? What linebackers. MSU just kept passing underneath over the middle over and over and over again in the 2H. Where are the LB? Not blitzing. Probably chasing backs who came thru the middle to clear it out. Can't wait to see the yardage 1H and 2H for MSU.

If MSU didn't lose 4 fumbles, we lose this game. Plain and simple. 1 on the goalline. 1 returned for a TD.

Dwyer still can't break a long one, but he did break a few tackles tonight for the first time this year and get YAC. But the fumble on the goal line was pee wee mistake.

Oh well, we will take the win but unless we get better we are going to get waxed a few times before the year is over.

PS: lets not even bring up kickoff coverage

Tarrant needs to be playing S. Wommack needs to make a call to Tenuta to figure out how to blitz effectively. This D is a flippin' joke leaving QB's back there with 8-10 seconds to pass. Just a joke.

I can't believe we didn't force a punt all game.

Absolutely PUTRID stat. Wommack should be forced to ride home on the bus with the cheerleaders. They did more to help win the game than that sorry sack.

Pissed at the defense?? The same defense that forced 5 turnovers?

Enjoy the win for crying out loud.

Indeed it wasn't all doom and gloom. Also, I'll tweak CPJ's statement about good teams not losing two and say a good defense (the best our defense will probably get this season) doesn't suck it up twice in a row. We shall see.

Wommack's job is on the line next week.

I hope you're right, but he's not getting fired until the end of the year. Hopefully it'll happen then.

As for MB, I think he's trying to cover all the dumbass mistakes everyone else makes because our defensive scheme is so awful. He can't be everywhere every play, but if he's not, we get burned.

Our offense is amazing though.
