Quick recap of the game and I'm pissed at the defense.

As for MB, I think he's trying to cover all the dumbass mistakes everyone else makes because our defensive scheme is so awful. He can't be everywhere every play, but if he's not, we get burned.

Our offense is amazing though.

You're right about Burnett. Two times now he has been in position to save a big touchdown pass and some other defender dives at the receivers knees and instead takes out Burnett (Clemson and tonight)

Wommack and DEs had a bad night. The DEs were responsible for the Qb on option which left it 2on1 on the Lbs... And the LBs played a cov 2 shell which was the reason the LBs kept everything was in front them and going to nickel against a goalline O not smart

i must've missed the thread that led to this. what's the deal?

There was a guy following me around in threads for a while, saying "**** you!" to me because I'm not happy with the defensive performance tonight. These things happen.

Is the poor tackling and out of position correctable? Obv, the tackling is; the out of position would be w/some tweaks to the scheme. Is Wommack up to it? He has gotta dial up the pressure; waaaayyy too much time for the QB to scan the field, text his girlfriend and then make a decision---good grief.

If not, we will be in some more shootouts this season.

i do think we played somewhat soft on D but in all honesty we dominated this game offensively and minus a couple of big plays (one being a kicoff return TD) this game was not as close as it seemed.

you have to give it up to the D for coming through with multiple turnovers and they even left some on the field with a couple dropped INTs.

i do think we can play better but there is room for concern.

Thanks for keeping me in the loop. If somebody is happy with our defense tonight, he must be a MSU fan. Our defense got some big turnovers, but I think most of them were a result of MSU learning their new offense... kind of like us last year.

A drunk posting in some other threads basically. It's too bad you can't see these posts like they were happening in real life, because it would have been quite humorous.

BOR, are you just saying **** or is there some inside info there? It would be surprising but not necessarily a bad thing. CPJ started out coaching defense, so he knows how to judge coaches I'm sure.

Tarrant SCORED A TOUCHDOWN this game. Give the guy a break, jeez. He's got 3 TDs in 5 games this season, on D and ST. He's 2nd on the team BEHIND NESBIT in touchdowns, and he doesn't even play offense.

There is no way Tarrant should be in anyone's doghouse. Weirdos.

And to those of you who are saying "our defense plays against this type of offense in practice every day"... Uh, so what, our defense should have "figured it out"? How ignorant can you be? What has CPJ and we as a fanbase have been saying to the critics and other fanbases for the past year and a half?

Next thing someone is going to post is that our defense should have watched the LSU (or Auburn) vs. MSU game film from last two weeks and used that as a "blueprint" to stop MSU's offense. :laugher:

MSU's offense wasn't too bad (DUH!) but our defense has to get a whole helluva lot better. Coaching issues, depth, just not that good right now. CPJ said to Wes in the locker room 'Nobody was doing what they're supposed to do', or WTTE, and sounded like he was close to resigning that there was something seriously wrong, not just a bad outing. I think we do better against the noles but I'd also think MSU could beat them, too. Additionally, I don't consider stripping the ball demonstrative of a good defense. It's a great thing but you can't hang your hat on it. Coach Wommack needs to update the resume and maybe consider small town life somewhere.

Nice to see us with equivalent passing and rushing yards for a change... We actually had more passing yards. 266 receiving vs 213 rushing.
