Jason Peters has just committed to Tech, choosing the Jackets over Florida, LSU and Nebraska

only thing better would have been "national champion" Florida

The Gators absolutely don't need him as they already have a sick recruiting class which has FOUR 5 stars!!!

When LB Lorenzo Edwards was being recruited at Tech he was a 4 star. When he signed at UF he became a 5 star. Same guy. The rankings are influenced by the team, or factory where players are recruited and signed.
That is encouraging to Tech. Hopefully the rest of Tech's class is underrated.

Give me a break. Stick to the UF board if you're going to post crap like this.
I didn't mean that in a bad way. When I was reading stuff on the UF board people were pissed that they didn't get him, but what they forget is that they already have a sick class. They don't need him in the sense that they have 2 5 star d-line recruits. So they can share a little!

Meant no knock on Peters I am thrilled to have him on board.

Techgator, please explain something to me. Per the recruiting boards UF signed 26 kids last year and 9 supposedly are in school early for this year. Total of 35 and the limit is 25 per year. How does a school get by with that? GT needs to know!

To tell you the truth I'm not sure. I don't follow UF recruiting nearly as much as I do GT's. Ask hiveredtech, he is a recruiting whiz.

gtguy,

You answered your own question. Anybody who starts school in the spring can count against either class. We are playing the same game with the WR who was hurt late in the season and that is the reason we still had two scholarships to give. By waiting until January, he can count againt the '08 limit.

How about not go on probation. That's a start.

Florida graduated 12 football players on scholarship this past December. That opened up the scholarships for the spring semester.

Probation, graduation has nothing to do with it.
GT1992 gave me the answer, entrants in the spring can be counted in either year. 25 max is 25 max regardless of graduation or probation which could lower it.
