It appears to me that Mr. Houston already understands football very well even as a redshirt freshman. Players make plays. He has great physical talent but even better he is mentally prepared and he has football savvy. Even though NC tightend had rumbled 50 yards, 2 yards from the goal line, the play wasn't over. He took a possible game breaking play for NC and turned it into a game making play for GT. Later he came on a corner blitz and sacked the quarterback and made a beautiful fake on the running back so he would not be blocked for a bee-line to the quarterback. When you come on a blitz your job is to get to the quarterback so you should take the quickest path with the least resistance, Houston does this. I think after this year, he will start for three years and have a great career for GT and perhaps beyond. R. Houston will be special.

Agree. Thanks for the insight into pass-rushing. I never thought of a blitzer faking a certain way in order to fool the blitz pickup. Good to see that Tenuta has been teaching. After the Poree and Holiday situations, it is nice to see a big name recruit who shows promise of living up to his clippings. Hollings finally showed this too before his injury. At 195 and playing corner, Reuben has a future on the next level if he continues to learn and improve his game.
