Received word from the Letterwinners Association that George Walter "Bunky" Henry, FB '64, '65, '66, and GT Golf HoFer has passed.

One of our all-time great nicknames...... IIRC, originally from Valdosta.

So sorry to hear that. He was a hero because he was a Tech football player AND a golfer.

Just to clean up Bunky's cause of death: An aortic aneurysm, pretty much an instant death unless you're already in an ER with a surgical team standing by.... Same thing that Jon Ritter (of Three's Company fame & son of Tex Ritter) died of about 15 years ago.

Yes, it is a sudden ending for sure. Thanks for the update, Cap'n, even if it was on a somber subject.
 
Excellent kicker for us in the mid 60's. I remember how precisely his XP's would go right down the middle. No drama with him kicking. Sorry for his family to lose him relatively young.
