Pollack's a mutt but he's fair. I don't have a problem with him or how he treats us. It's Bell that I have a problem with on that show. He's pretty funny, but I think he's a phallus where we're concerned.

Even without the injury, Pollack never would have been noted as a great NFL DE.... because he played linebacker in the pros. The guy is 6'2" and 260lbs, way to small for an NFL DE.

This thread got really dumb when whoever started to knock a guy as a failure due to a career-ending injury.

Ramblin, so are you calling ELI a failure? Dem's fighting words. ;)

I agree Pollack will not go down as one of the great DE's of all time -- sincerely doubt he would have even without his injury. But I am just saying I do not like to call an injury a failure.

Yeah, now that you put it that way, ELI is not a fail, but Pollock is still a fail because he was a mutt. There, my real motives are revealed.

Come on guys, you either hate the mutts or you don't, no excuses.

Dwight Freeney is listed at 6'1", Robert Mathis is listed at 6'2".

This is just an odd coincidence, but on the NFL network last night they were talking about how now shorter DE's actually have an advantage in the game. Said with the tackles getting taller and taller, short guys who are quicker and can get a leverage advantage are successful. The two guys above are probably the best examples of that.

Pollack did play OLB in the pros though...

I hated Pollock when he played at UGag, because he was so daqmn good and a dawg, but I pulled for him as a pro just because I knew who he was. Besides, a broken neck is a horrible injury for anybody.
