Rainy Conditions Expected for Duke Game

Looks like they've got the blueprint. Can't believe our luck on away games this year. I also can't believe it took so long for Stewart to get his first TD.

Georgia Tech hasn’t had much luck when it comes to weather on the road this season.

The Yellow Jackets have only played three true road games this season -- with one neutral-site game in Atlanta -- and all of them have been in bad conditions.

Their fourth and final road game this Saturday at Duke may be no different. The forecast calls for cool and wet conditions for the 3:30 p.m. start in Durham, North Carolina.

The losses to Miami, Clemson and Virginia all featured a wet playing surface and a tall task for quarterback TaQuon Marshall to navigate the offense with a slick football.

“I’m hoping, but I’ve already checked out the weather, so I know how it’s going to be,” Marshall said about the team’s final road game. “It’s frustrating, just knowing every away game we’ve had it’s been raining. But it’s something that’s a part of the game. You’re going to play some games that are wet.”

Wide receiver Brad Stewart, who had his first career touchdown last Saturday against Virginia Tech, has as tough of a role as any in wet conditions. Not only will he deal with the difficulties of catching passes, but he also faces the duty of catching punts.

“Conditions do change things,” Stewart said. “If it’s raining hard, I’m probably going to trust my hands bare more than gloves, since it’s a little more slippery. I wouldn’t say fair catching has anything to do with it. At the end of the day, we want a big play on special teams, but if we have the ball at the end of the play, that’s the biggest priority.”

IIRC, Duke 2015 was also rainy/dreary. We looked pretty rough too, lost 34-20. Refs missed egregious offsides by Duke on a critical 4th down play. AJ Gray got tackled by the turf monster on what would have essentially been a walk-in pick six. CPJ kept calling BB dives that we couldn't make work to save our lives.

All around forgettable day, so hopefully weather improves and we can wax the Blue Devils to make up for 2015 debacle.

Someone needs to go put a lock on the indoor practice field doors, and wet down the outdoor practice field.
I've been drinking a lot of coffee today so I'm headed down to wet the practice field. Obviously I won't be doing it from the top of the indoor practice facility because the pee would totally dissipate before it reached the practice field.

You pussies need to grow a pair. We got the "lost a game at the last minute we should've won " monkey off our back last week. We're getting the "can't play in the rain" monkey off our back this week. And we're getting the "cant beat the gaggers at home" monkey off our back next week. Man up bitches.

Corndog explained to me why we suck on rainy weather and he said it's because Taquan has small hands and the rain makes the ball slippery so he has a hard time throwing it, pitching it or running with it.

If only we could deflate the balls a little so he has a better grip on it to offset the rain's adverse effects.

You know what else makes balls slippery? Your mom.

That settles it: We are going to beat the hell out of Duke.

Latest forecast has rain arriving there on Sunday with only a 20% chance on Saturday. Duke ded.
