Sorry to use such blasphemy in the title of the post, but this is the title of a book worth a read for college football fans.
The author, Warren St. John, went to high school with my wife in Birmingham. He is now a writer for the NY Times and New Yorker. In the book he spends a season in the midst of the hardcore 'Bama RV-er fans. It has some interesting insights into college football fans and fans in general, and also some enitertaining accounts of some, shall we say, colorful 'Bama fans.
There are a couple of mentions of GT in the book (though we didn't play 'Bama during the season in question), including being part of one of the more amusing anecdotes.
