Correct. Good eye! That's a practice kit that stays right there. I took them off to experiment with the sound a little bit. My gig sets have resos.

Nice - couldn’t make out the logo/brand. What do you gig with? I’m currently using DW but looking to switch it up. Never removed the resos - might give it a try but I practice on an ekit

They are just Pearl Exports. The group I'm with now are a low-key kind of group, and I play this small jazz style kit. I changed the heads (they were Ludwig heads) and It's fun, but I can't get the punch I want out of the kick.

Other than that, I've found that you can get a good sound from most any kit with good heads and some tuning experimentation on both heads. If I'm spending money, I'd rather put it toward quality cymbals.
