National Ranking: 5
Average yards per play: 3.88(only TCU and USC are better)
Average yards per game: 254(only BC, FSU, USC, FSU are better)
#5 in scoring defense at 11.6 points per game, wow!
#1 in tackles for loss at 9 per game, 63 total
#9 in turnovers gained at 19(this really helps offset our turnovers lost, where we rank 75th)
#7 in interceptions at 12
#6 in pass efficiency D
#8 in overall pass D
#8 in red zone D

And a special congrats to Morgan Burnett for being tied at #1 nationally for interceptions with 5.

So much for that drop off with Tenuta gone! :D

I found the sacks #1 rank surprising now that we don't have Tenuta's blitz-happy offense. Then again, I don't know that much football :)

Please don't give South Carolina any credit by calling the Trojans USCw

USCe deserves credit, they have the chance to embarrass UGA every year. I don't care rats ass about USCw.

SC = Southern Cal
USC = Steve Spurrier's Joke of a Program

Who, besides the players themselves of course, deserves the credit for such a solid D in a "re-building" year? New DC Wommack for instant impact? Tenuta for leaving a powerhouse behind? Chan & Co. for getting great players who can excel no matter what D scheme? Wayne Clough for that sexy white beard? Others?

I said this when Tenuta was here and I'll say it again. I think our position coaches do NOT get enough credit for what they do. Yes, the players deserve the bulk of the credit because they have to execute, and Wommack puts the defense together, so he desrves his props, but it is the position coaches that teach the fundamentals. Our DL and LB position coaches have performed outstandingly for several years now and they are always the "forgotten" men. And THIS year??? Look at what Kelly has done with the secondary!!! And he did the same with special teams last year.
