I didn't post last night because we got back from the cesspool too late. The traffic on 316 was brutal.

Random thoughts:

(1) Boys, we got us a ball coach. Paul Johnson is, quite simply, the best coach in the land. I don't care what anyone says. Look at the job he's done with GT this year, and I defy you to show me another coach who has come in and installed a new system and had the success he's had. He makes it look easy. You wanna see how it could have been - just look at Michigan. Just amazing, and we better back up the Brinks truck and pay him because if we don't he won't be here long. You gotta know that others will come knocking sooner than later.

(2) The best is yet to come. We have another spring and summer to assimilate the offense. We'll be scary good next year... and for a while after that. Beating the mutts today was a fluke? Not on your life. Get used to it butt-draggers.

(3) Yeah, we gave up 42 points but I am d**m proud of our defense. We came up big when we needed to. A new DC?? Gimme a break. Give Wommack a healthy 11 and we'll dominate. Period. When Wommack's done Giff will step in and we'll dominate again. Period.

(4) Nesbitt is a sophomore. Dwyer is a sophomore. Thomas is a sophomore. Morgan is a sophomore. Burnett is a sophomore. Jefferson is a sophomore. Roddy is a freshman. We are young and we are very good. God, I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about 2010.

(5) I am very proud of our guys. Everyone on that field played their hearts out and left it all on the field. A total team effort and a lot of hard work from our guys. I'm just totally impressed.

(6) Seniors - we'll miss you guys, and all the best in whatever lies before you. I'm proud to have supported you.

(7) I hate Athens. I'd rather go to our "dinky" "half filled" "ancient" stadium any day than that monstrosity over there. The place stunk, the concessions were lame, and the traffic was abysmal. Cesspool is too kind a word.

(8) Mutt fans suck. All I heard at 28-12 was "how bout them dogs!" and that total BS incessant "barking." During the 3rd quarter there was total silence, and pretty much every mutt fan around me was gone with 2 minutes left in the game. Right after the game was over they turned off the scoreboard. The only people left in the stands were the GT fans and the band (and God it was just great!!). I sat in 610 with, what was for all intents and purposes, the Swarm, and we were loud and rowdy the whole game. I'm 50 and I kept up with the Swarm guys. It was great!

(9) We need a new "flagship" radio station. I could barely get 790 on my way out of the cesspool. And when I did, I just got pissed. I didn't hear the locker room show, but we had Brandon Adams and Jeff Woolverton on the post game call-in show. I like Woolvey but I really despise Adams. The post game show is SUPPOSED to be biased toward us. Adams is an unapologetic MUTT fan! Can we not find another person to be on this show? Is there not another Tech fan around who could run that show? Because 790 has no power, I had to switch over to 750 and listen to the U(sic)GA guys. They were biased, but that's ok - they're SUPPOSED to be. Note to DRad - we can do better - let's do it. Which brings me to my next point...

(10) Eric Zeier is a tool. Hondo Williamson is a tool's tool. I can't believe the total arrogance and smugness of these two guys. Zeier did kind of apologize for the "high school offense" crack, but Williamson called him out for being nice to GT fans. I think I'd have a heart attack if I heard just one of them say "Tech beat us today because they were better than we were." Instead we get "Halley's comet has come back around - Tech beat us" and "it's a blue moon". What total and utter d**cks. Yeah, I know in my last point I said they're supposed to be biased but there's a difference between biased and being a d*ck.

All in all it was a great day despite the cold and the rain and the traffic and the obnoxious nadlicker fans. I've been a GT fan for 44 years and this one goes in my top 5 GT moments.

A point on #9 is that there is absolutely no reason to have a UGA grad and Mutt fan hosting a post game call-in show on the Georgia Tech flagship station.

I am sure that there are more than a few qualified former GT lettermen who would do a fine job in that slot. But that's what we get with the 790 affiliation, Brandon Adams is a 790 Zone 'personality' so he gets the gig.

This must be looked into and corrected prior to next season. Could you imagine a Tech guy hosting a UGA post game call-in show --of course not.

I'm glad you enjoyed it up there at 30,000 feet. I had a great time holding my sign up mocking those nadlickers from the far-back row. :)

They are busy flying spaceships.

Tell me about it, was over in 608 near the top. They should rent Sherpas to get you up there. I thought I was going to pass out from the excitement combined with the lack of oxygen at that altitude.

Great post GTDad. Glad to hear you were representin us old guys by keeping up with the students. I know yesterday was a day you will always remember. And your post was spot on. Only quiblle is that I suspect some of those young guys you mentioned will be getting paychecks for playing football in 2010 instead of wearing the white and gold.
