Anyone notice how Shannon walked the sidelines last night, all wrapped up in his coat, and with almost no visible sign of emotion, at least that I saw?

Reminded me of that no-name bowl vs Stanford where Coach McWhorter handed Willinghams' ass to him;all evening Willingham just stood on the sidelines, arms crossed wearing his granny glasses and showing little emotion.

Well, I guess neither one of them had any reason to be anything other than unhappy!
:laugher::laugher::laugher:

Both of them acted cold, almost aloof, and got beat by us. Stanford was ranked no. 9 if I remember correctly.

I don't know... I think that Shannon is a good coach who got shackled (albeit by himself when he hired him) with a terrible offensive coordinator. If and when Miami gets rid of Patrick Nix, their offense will certainly start clicking. We just wore their defense down yesterday. In my estimation, comparing Shannon to Willingham at this point in his career is unfair.

Uhhh, no I didn't think that at all.

Why is Ty Willingham now a rallying point for people?

Whatever agenda you're into, get over it and start treating people as individuals. That's the whole point afterall.

Frumpy knit sweater. Crossed arms. No emotion shown other than a pouty look. Hmmm... definately doesn't make an ideal picture of a coach, now does it?

I don't know if there is a good look for a coach to have when getting annihilated. Different coaches have different ways of expressing themselves. Not every coach can be Steve "I'm gonna dramatize a seizure after every bad play" Spurrier.

They could pull down their pants at halftime or something. Seriously, give some effort!

:laugher:Yeah I guess you could always re-enact the Bob Knight toilet paper incident.

By the way, this got me thinking about all of the stuff that Knight has done or allegedly done and I found this:http://espn.go.com/ncb/s/knighttimeline.html

He was a great coach but a total jerk. There was one little nugget that I found to be particularly eye-opening though.

In an ESPN interview with Digger Phelps, Knight accuses referees of being the most likely to be involved in gambling on games: "The most susceptible guy in any gambling scheme is an official, without any question. I mean, if we only knew the truth about games that were controlled by officials having gambling interests, I think it would be amazing."

We were at the game and thus didn't see him on tv, however, our seats are lower East and there were several times he was VERY animated with his players, coaches, and refs.

They showed a replay of Dwyer's run on ESPN and he was getting on the LB who missed him pretty hard. I don't think he's that great of a coach, but it's probably better, with the bunch of thugs he has, that he set a cool-headed example, or else they'd be getting 15 yarders every other play.

Sorry all you racially-sensitive types, but it's just a fact. Next to the word 'token' in the dictionary is a picture of Ty Willingham. This is why ESPN and the rest of the MSM need to shut the f*** up about all this 'We need to hire more minorities; celebrate minority achievement"- blah, blah, blah crap, and just cover sports, not social agendas. Take the Ward Connerly approach: let the best man be hired and stand on his merits.

Ty Willingham sucks. Randy Shannon isn't a good coach, but he's not Wilingham bad.

You must not have seen Shannon lighting into that one linebacker who tackled Nesbitt by the handwarmer. He was really getting in his face at one point on the sidelines.
