Did not intervene and stop this debacle from happening. PJ should have monitored practice closely and stepped in when it was apparent that it was a joke. You have dug yourself a big hole to dig out of my friend.

And whoever came on here reporting that practice was going well, you are a dumbarse beyond all recognition. THIS BOWL GAME HAS HURT THE PROGRAM. Never, ever do this again.
 
How has it hurt the program any worse than the other bowl game losses we've had recently?

You're a God Damn imbecile. How does a coach who was hired three weeks ago come into a team situation he had no prior relationahsip with with a coach who was named interim head coach and start "taking control". How does anyone do that? How do you throw him under the bus of all people? He did the right thing and stayed away while these coaches finished what they started. It would have been disasterous for him to come in and try and run his offense.

This has to be the biggest "I don't know sh!t about football, management, or anything else I speak of therefore I talk completely out of my ass" post of the year. Shut the hell up.

Who was it that asked when the first person calling for PJ's head on the first unconverted third down would be? Turns out it happened without him even officially being the head coach of the team.
 
Hell, I thought the bright spot to yesterday was how obviously perturbed CPJ sounded on the radio with Wes and looked when he was in the booth. You could tell that the game management up to that point was driving him nuts.

OK, now that we are all sober, I want to revisit this post and understand how it is the most ignorant and imbecilic post in the history of Stingtalk.

There was no profanity and name calling in my original post. I did not vilify PJ or go on GoDaddy and register FirePaulJohnson.com. I simply find it odd that PJ would take such a handsoff approach about the bowl season.

For the past two bowl games our defense has played uncharacteristically poorly while the offense seemed to do better than expectations. These were bowl games that were winnable with normal defensive performance. Does anyone now argue that the defense was prepared to play this game? OK, so Tenuta chose to let the players have fun and as a result they weren't ready or prepared to play. That was his perogative.

However, as an experienced manager, I know that it is the senior manager's job to intervene when one of his captains is not getting the job done in his area, i.e. not maintaining the readiness of his troops.

I wish we didn't have to play in these meaningless bowl games that our team demonstrates a lack of enthusiasm for by their play on the field and that our own AA financial manager says are fiscally negative to the program. But those arguing the pro side of the bowl games point out the additional month of practice and the exposure for the program.

In this case do we think the additional month of practice with lame duck coaches served any great purpose? Do we think the image portrayed of the program on national television helped us win new recruits and fans. I think not, in fact I think it was a setback that could have been avoided. I am very up about the hiring of PJ and I wish him God-speed in getting the task ahead underway. I have already paid my Tech Fund for next year.

I don't know what's dumber, the original post or the fact that after you sobered up you wanted to revisit this post.

And lets not short yourself either. Your post wasn't the dumbest I have ever seen on Stingtalk, it was the dumbest I have ever seen on any GT message board period.

It has nothing to do with villifying anything or name calling. Its the principle point of your post which was Paul Johnson is somehow at fault for the loss and he isn't even responsible or in control of the game at all. To think he should have been is just plain ignorant on your part. I just can't imagine someone being that ignorant, so you must just be stupid, I don't know. If you ever walk in a room full of people and are scared to open your mouth because of how you come across to people, you may be able to answer this question better than me.

But bottom line, blaming Paul Johnson for this loss is downright silly and it would take someone either drunk or stupid to say something like that. You were drunk when you said it, now your stupid enough to defend it when you are sober.

Rest assured BOR I have no insecurities speaking in public and I can debate a topic without attacking the opposition. That says a lot about YOU. But we've banged heads before so I know you can't resist a chance to take a cheap shot.

So are you saying that PJ is not on the payroll yet? Does his contract start 1/1/08? If so, I will agree with your point. I was under the impression he was hired in early December. Also, I wasn't singling out PJ, my post mentioned DRad as well. I guess he's not in control either.
