1. Defense plays better against pocket passers
2. Team plays better at night
3. Tech players are more intelligent than the average football player and this can lead to analysis paralysis. Coming off a bad loss the expectations are low and players are less afraid of making mistakes and can more easily get into their “flow” state
4. Patterns
5. We wear Gold/White/Gold

3. Haynes
4. King
Fixed that for you

Reasons we beat UNC:
1. Mack
2. Brown
Actually, insert any coach's name for the goats over the last 25 yrs. Larry Fedora had the most success and he's still sub .500 at 3-4.
Butch was 1-3.
Bunting was 1-5.
Torbush was 0-3.
Mack is 1-2 this time around and 7-5-1 overall.

We match up against UNC better than we did against BC.

BC's weakness defensively was against the run... lol we can't do that

BC's strength was the run... lol we can't stop that

Not that we're great in the other facets of the game, but BC was pretty much tailor-made to perform against this iteration of the yellow jackets.

Do we beat UNC? Probably not, but maybe. I'd guess they run for 180, pass for 240 against us. Maybe score 35. We string together 3 series of TD drives in a short period somewhere in the middle of the game and probably script a scoring drive early. Whether we manage a few scores elsewhere determines the outcome. Need at least 10 in the 4th otherwise we lose.

I'm guessing we don't so 35-24 UNC victory.

I lived in NC in 99 for about a year. Went to every UNC home game. They were loaded - Julius Peppers, Ryan Sims, Ronald Curry, Alge Crumpler, Sam Aiken, Sedrick Hodge, David Thornton. A bunch of those guys played in the NFL.
And they were awful. I saw them get boatraced by FSU, who was, as it turned out, really damn good that year, and by Furman.
I guess what Spurrier said about Georgia can apply to Chapel Hill too.

Because that pathetic excuse for a football team has not won the ACC since GT arrived.
The only school in the ACC that has gone longer without winning an ACC title is NC St. As old as I am, I was almost still a teenager when UNC last took the title.

Too bad it’s a home game though.

I went to the GOL beating of the Julius Peppers team when Nat Dorsey schooled him. Took a UNC fan to the game. He bragged about how Peppers was gonna dominate our OL. He didn't have a sack or TFL and my buddy called a hold on every single play on Dorsey. It was glorious.

Also, same UNC fan came with me to the UNC game where PJ Daniels broke the big TD run at the end to ice the game. It was glorious

I miss those days :ughcry:

Mack > Chizik

Mack can field a middle of the road program if you give him every possible advantage.
