Its rough and crude, but for some of you out of towners or those who were not able to catch it.. he is a recap..
chan has not prepared an "us against them" kind of theme for the season.. says he is not into that sort of thing.. but we have got to get things done.. and we have the proper attitude..everyone is working hard in this area.
You always trying to fight the tendency to either get down on yourself, or get too big headed.. you always try to keep things on balance.. nothing is as bad as it seems.. nothing is as good as it seems.. you just have to keep moving to get better
talks about being picked 8th for the ACC.. he isnt surprised.. nor bothered by it.. said the pre-season people dont really know what they are talking about.. talks about other teams that have been picked low in years past and done well by seasons end.. thats the great thing about a season.. you have to play the games..
Our players have something they want to go out and prove.. and so do the coaches..
Chan did know about 2-3 of the academic casualties.. but was shocked to learn of the final number.. the structure has been changed to more like it was before he arrived at Tech and he will be much more involved with academics..
Talks about the loss of Hollings and Sampson.. we were counting on Hollings.. talked about his mental toughness.. and now we have PJ, ACE, some young guys who will have to step up for us..
The QB job is still open .. Bilbo came out of spring as #1.. but they want to take a good look at Carter and Ball as well.. they will get the reps to prove themselves..
Chan would rather not have the two QB system.. would rather go with one guy.. but if the best way to win games is to go with two.. then thats what we will do..
On Gathers.. he has worked out during the off season.. but has yet to be cleared.. they have not been given a time-frame on this.. it could be early season.. it could be mid season.
We will have some true freshmen step up and play for us this year.. may also move some people around.. to accommodate the losses along the DL.
Is the 3-4 an option on defense? Sure, it is certainly one of our options.. and we will look at the possibilities of doing that.. its more complex than just saying you are going to do it.. the complexities of going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 are alot more than just doing it..
Talks about the loss of McNair.. Ather will probably take that spot.. just not sure.. will have to see how things fall out in practice.. we have some expereince there, but will have to rely on Freshmen for depth.
Freshman report next Friday.. practice starts next Saturday..

Dave in Sarasota.. what are Gaileys thoughts on the BCS format for the NC
Gailey.. we will see something different in the next 4 or 5 years in regards to a playoff.. could be conf championships leading to bowls leading to the NC game..
Lee in Decatur.. asked a question about the Falcons in Greenville.. (what planet is he on??)
what type of obligation does the student athlete have in terms of class on Friday..
Gailey.. they will have to try and make the classes in the afternoon.. but are trying to get them a "bye" for the morning classes since they wont arrive in Atlanta until 4 or 5 in the AM.
Ashley in Decatur.. last couple of years we seem to be getting blown off the ball are we doing anything different in the weight room..
We have worked more on lower body strength the last year and a half.. but have been working hard in the weight room
What does adding Miami and Va Tech do for the conference..
Gailey: college football is big business, if you are not getting stronger, you are getting left behind.. it raises the bar.. but one thing about it.. you win the ACC now and you have a chance to play for it all.. and he likes that !!
Gailey doesnt think the NCAA will allow conferences without 12 teams play in a championship game...
