It is on the public board now....WR Chris Jackson (6-1, 195 as a junior) of Henry County, GA committed to GT over FSU, Tennessee, Notre Dame, among others.

How awesome is this? WOW...

We will probably get Steven Sylvester (LB/RB) from Union Grove as well. He is 6-2, 215 and already had an offer from at least South Carolina as well last I checked.

Just listened to the audio of the commitment on Rivals....Chris Jackson is a sharp young man...extremely articulate and mature. Here is a pick of Chris.

I like all of these guys in my back yard committing to GT.

Henry Co. was a football graveyard for the longest time - nice to see the player development from these schools.

Whre is our emphasis going to be for '08? O-line, receiver, db's?

With a full 25 to give....you will see all positions emphasized equally...each of the 22. Plus you may see us recruit a kicker and/or punter if we can get a "can't miss" kid. However, our experience with schollies to "can't miss" kickers has been less than stellar.

it has been a spot lacking a lot of D1 recruits compared to DeKalb, Cobb, and Gwinnett...good to see Henry in the mix.

Assuming nothing expected happens personnel wise, I heard we will target OL and DL a good bit for the 08 class.

Assuming one for each position we would take 5 OL's and 4 DL's.

The county of Henry is still a football grave yard. With the population boom that is taking place here, you may start to see more players coming from there. The unfortunate thing is that the coaching, or lack of is very telling. The county can't or won't pay for quality coaches which hurts football overall, IMO.

Steven Sylvester is a good kid, excellent student and heckuva football player. Hopefully we can land him. Another kid you might here about is Jonathan Pippin. He was a Sophomore LB this season and not afraid to hit somebody.

If we need baseball talent, Henry might not be a bad place to look.

I think Sylvester will end up a Jacket. It will be interesting to see where his size ends up.
