Recruiting for the Portal and NIL

As Tech fans we have always liked to think that we do things better in terms of how we treat student athletes. We have traditionally been against oversigning, gray shirts, etc thinking that those tactics were not fair to players.

The portal and NIL shows we need to recruit a full allotment each year. Scholarships are only a one year obligation. It’s the inverse of what athletes are doing to us. It’s the only way we will be able to compete. Make competition truly the king. Show underperforming athletes to the portal.

Totally agree. Also though we have to play the NIL game at least to the extent we can. We can't decide to be "above" it, wait 5 years, then play ball. It will be too little too late then.
