Dana Graydon a four star LB from albany announced
today that Tech was his big leader.
Pat Carter a QB from St. Petersburg, Fla. said that Tech offered the best opportunity for him to
play quickly as the Tech coaches are telling him that we really need a top QB. He said that if he decided to play WR that he would most likely pick Fla. but he wants to play QB in college. He runs a 4.4 40 and is 6-2 so that is why fla. wants him as a WR.

Skyler Thornton a four star RB from Lagrange has Tech, Fla,Ark, and S.C. as his final four. He spoke highly of Tech.

Tech leads for all three of the Washington H. S.
stars.

Tech also leads For two of the Lovejoy H.S. stars
CHOICE,and HEARD.
Everything is so gloomy that I thought we all needed some encouragement. This information is current-dated either Dec.1 or 2.

Wouldn't it be interesting if CG landed one of the best recruiting classes in tech history?

Would that put whole new coat of paint on the old barn?

I hope we get some good news soon.

Big Buck,

Thank you for the info. I do not follow recruiting very closely--other than looking at who else is recruiting a particular player (noone has been able to explain to me the diff. between the #13 ranked LT and the #18 ranked LT). The kids you mentioned are certainly being sought by "big" programs and I would like to hear that we got a good number of them.

I would also think that we could really sell a few top caliber QB's on the idea of playing time--esp. if the staff does not feel that Bilbo will win the job. Either way, we could all use some good news--let's get some more committs in Dec. while the team will hopefully come out like a jailbreak in the bowl game and play hard and play to win for 60 minutes.

I do not want to simply count down the days to bball season during the spring.

Pat Carter is going to Michigan
Skyler Thornton is going to South Carolina

We'll probably end up getting both Heard and Choice and most likely Graydon

We're slight leaders for the Atlanta trio as a package deal but Johnson likes Clemson a little better

Brandon Nixon OL and Brandon Allen WR both scratched GT from their list

edit: the above is an educated guess....not fact...well except Nixon and Allen, they did scratch us

and someone just posted on The Hive that we should have a commitment from punter Jonathan Wright by week's end. He is a 6-4 kid that averages 43 yds. per kick...and is from GA.
He had offers from other major Div. 1 schools.

Certx55 I am glad you said that it was just your opinion because the information on Thornton was from an interview dated 12-2-02 and he said he didn't have any favorites but Tech and Fla. was recruiting him the hardest.

Pat Carter said that from an image standpoint michigan would sound better but Ga. Tech would offer a better opportunity to play QB because our coaches had stressed that we needed QB's so much and he went on to say that Tech had his major and would be close to home. Everything i have read on these guys indicate that we are in great shape with both of them. I subscribe to several recruiting services
and i'm pretty much informed and I have not read anything discouraging about our chances on Carter or Thornton.

im not discouraged in what i read from carter and thornton but from all the articles ive read those are who i discern the leaders to be right now (of course i may be wrong or it may change)

Luckily for us Florida is recruiting Carter as a WR or else he'd be a done deal there...I see Michigan as being our main competition....he enjoyed his visit up there (summer camp i believe) and seemed to like everything that made Michigan....well Michigan....dont count Purdue out either.....

What works in our favor is that Gailey has seemingly made him priority #1...that we offered before Michigan did and that we're closer to home. Hopefully he'll see a QB situation here that may allow him to get on the field sooner.

I based my guess on Thornton based on previous comments where it seemed GT was in the mix...but still an afterthought....it always seemed he was talking about South Carolina and Arkansas and mentioned GT as an afterthought....I still see GT in his top 4 but i still havent seem him really comment on Tech..

time will tell

Thanks, Big Buck. Could you do a dailey update? Bi-dailey, maybe:>)?
Very funny, Law. Gailey could sure use some super good recruits about now. So could the Tech fans.
