Gailey firing impacts Kenneth Page:

I do know that it is bleak now with Brandon Thompson...which we all knew would happen.

Lets hope a new coach, assuming it is the right hire, is announced soon. Our assistants are put in a tough position right now as they try to convince recruits to come to GT while they also look for a job.

I am confident Rad will make the right decision quickly and the recruiting bleeding will be little or none. If we pick the right guy I would think that our recruiting may actually pick up especially on the offensive side.

You got it hiverdtech...

It doesn't look good for my 1st choice Jimbo Fisher...Who will be the target of several bigtime schools...I think if we wait (Im not suggesting we need too) he will be bypassed by Lsu and we get him...

Don't think we wait though..He is either in or he want get it....

I agree though Hivered..We need a quick hire to preserve recruiting...

Does anyone else think Muschamp has the edge on the recruiting factor since he is already in touch with many common GT/AU targets like Barnes, Drummond, Thomas and Green and also recruits the SE. If DRad wants to lessen the negative impact a coaching changes has on recruiting then he must be looking hard at Muschamp. I don't think anyone else is in position to reconnect with the recruits better than Muschamp, unfortunately.

I agree with the recruiting aspect. I hope that stopping the bleeding with the recruiting is 1B on DRad's list of decision-making criteria.

I would think it is.

He called each of the committed recruits personally yesterday...many he had to leave messages for.

Some of the kids were angry (I will not say which ones)...more of the parents were steamed. However, they do appear to want to wait until the new coach is named before they doing anything too harsh like de-commit.

I will say Sean Renfree still plans to enroll early if he can do it. As we all know, QB recruiting for top ones like him ended by August...it ends earlier each year for QB's.

How Jackson's early enrollment coming, is he still planning on doing it and on pace for it?

Only 2-3 are really wavering. The rest will remain a GT commit I believe.

That is why I'm dreaming for and hoping

we could get Jimbo Fisher...

IF, and I know it is a big IF, we struck gold and got Jimbo, I feel he would take recruiting (Even this years class) and move it up a notch...

Of all the candidates mentioned, imho, he would be the best recruiter...It has Fsu fans worrying as to recruiting...

I would agree..although the 2-3 are not ones we want to lose...not that we could lose any as it is a strong class.

The biggest impact of all of this has been on the undecided players.

We will likely still get Uzzi...particularly since UGA is full at OL now.

man if Tenuta ends up leaving I would think that could have a BIG impact on the defensive recruits who are attracted to his aggresive blitzing style....Agree?
Does this mean that we're looking hard at a HC who has extensive experience/background in defense or has just a conflict w/ Tenuta or his style?
Is Tenuta's opportunity really just a complamentary offer to interview as HC & he really doesn't have a shot...but just a CYA to say that we "offerred him a chance to interview"....Just a thought...otherwise why is he mad?
