Question for you recruiting gurus out there. Are we recruiting some o-linemen this year? If so who are our top recruits at these positions? I know we have redshirted 3 linemen this year but will they be able to come in and make an impact right away next year?

Doing good at the OL position.

Already have commitments from Will Jackson, Jay Finch, and Raymond Beno. We are looking good for Daniel Hood (75/25)...and pretty good for Wesley Johnson (50/50).

It is going to be a rare day that you seen an OL make a big impact as a true freshman in any offense...much less our offense. This goes the same for DL's and QB's...don't care how many stars they have.

Uzzi, McRae, and P.Smith are all showing promise...Uzzi closest to being ready to compete for a starting job.
 
Camnden wentz is the guy we really need to get. He can play every OL position and is best at center. I say we finish our class with Izaan Cross, camnden wentz, david sims, dontae aycock, brandon brown, orwin smith, matt crisafi, courtany dalcourt, and robert nelson.

We are not going to offer Crisafi...and we probably will not offer Wentz. We may be able to get Wentz just through the preferred walk-on/HOPE deal as he has no offers at this time from anyone. Maybe if things do not work out for Hood and Johnson.

Brandon Brown and Robert Nelson do not have offers yet...they could.

We have 10 spots left and are focused on:

Orwin Smith
Dontae Aycock
David Sims
Courtney Dalcourt
Stephen Hill
Daniel Hood
Wesley Johnson
Izaan Cross
Euclid Cummings
Darren Myles
Jonathan Davis

We are taking a hard look at Demond Dennis as well.
 
My favorite out of all of these is Aycock. He is really good. I would like a couple of more Quarter backs to go along with Luallen. Also getting Stephen Hill would be huge! Hope we get some more O lineman!

There will also likely be a surprise player or two that gets interested. We talk to a lot of kids regularly...even commits elsewhere.
 
When does Hood's season end? I know he was waiting to see if the TE position would pan out for him.

It looks like they will make the playoffs which could upset his visit to OleMiss on Nov. 25. He was scheduled to go there 11/25 and to GT on 12/12...then make his decision 2-3 days after that.

We will see. I would give us 60/40 on him
 
I keep forgetting how late in the year it's getting. I guess we'll start hearing a lot more news in the next month or so.
 
Lets hope.

We need warm bodies. PJ was really preaching doom and gloom about our lack of depth at his last press conference.

December 12 is our big recruiting weekend. There also could be some visitors that are committed elsewhere that weekend.

Depending on how that weekend goes...we could see some January offers go to other OL's.

Signing Day is still over three months away. You will ahve coaching changes in December/January...tons of things happening between now and then.
 
Can Jonathan Davis make the grades at GT? I have heard he has a bad attitude but hits like hell, 5'-8" could be tough at Mid LB.

I for one am hoping with the coaching changes at Clemson, (Probably at UT, Auburn and maybe others) We pick off a few of their commits or leans...Guys like Mitchell-Thornton, Foster (The OL from Valdosta) Euclid Cummings..

We all know we have lost a few verbals we had like Gresham and Drew...speaking of John Drew...Hiver, what if UT get's Cutcliff as head coach, wonder if Drew could then be persuaded back to us?

John Drew is 100% Duke because of his brother being in college 5 minutes away from the campus. It does not matter who the coach is.

We are not going after any Clemson commits...but I am always more fearful of the excitement around another southeastern school with a new head coach...and them coming after ours.

The commits to other schools we are talking to does not include Clemson.
