One stat I love to see this year is our Red Zone performance. We lead the ACC in TD% for trips to the Red Zone at 75%.

The other 25% is 10% made FG, 10% missed FG, and 5% turnover.

You are right mm42, this is a very nice stat that is a huge indicator of how successful we have been. The other stat that is important to me is turnover margin and we've done well here too.

Our 3rd down conversion % is way up also, as is Reggie's QB efficiency rating. Seems all the stuff we have talked about in the past that needed to improve have so far.

Great point NC.
Thru 6 games, #1 has been great and I don't credit as much to him being a senior as to the offense he is being asked to run.
Halfway thru his final year, he has gone from being a former liability in my book to a very big run/pass threat that is giving everyone fits.
Who is playing better QB in the acc this year?

Yes, we are tied for #1 in the league (with Clemson) in Turnover Margin. We have considerably lower giveaways per game than Clemson, but they have more takeaways.

Two of our TOs have been trash hail-marys at the end of halftime, too.

Sounds Like We Have A Senior Quarterback

Better red zone conversion, better 3rd down conversion, higher QB efficiency, lower turnovers.

Sounds like Ball is a senior to me.

I like senior quarterbacks.

Ball is playing in an offense that suits him much better also. He's doing the same things he's been successful at the whole time (think the game at Vandy his Soph season), but he's now able to do them a lot more often and turn his abilities into assests instead of liabilities.

I knew there has been good success in the red zone this year, but I had no idea that the TD percentage was that high (you'd think that being a stats major I would have known this). 75% is incredible. All the good things that have been mentioned, 3rd down efficiency, turnovers, senior leadership, etc... guess that's why we're all happy campers right now sitting 5-1/3-0 and ranked #13 in the nation, a few spots ahead of UGh-Ah no less.

Vandy was his freshmen year.

Doesn't seem that long ago to me either.

man, you're right. I couldn't remember the year for sure, but didn't seem like it'd be that long ago. Time flies I guess. I'm going to miss ole' Ball when its over, too much fight in the guy not to.
