appreciable difference from last year? I noticed a few screens and a little option, more shotgun. What other changes did you more knowledgeable fans notice last night? Is it possible that it is personnel that limits us to the offensive output we have been seeing or is it coaching/schemes/X's and O's? A bit of both? Did you see anything that (offensively, other than Calvin) that has you optimistic about the balance of the season.I thought Choice looked ggood in spots. I am convinced that, once again, we will be in most of our games due to our defensive strengths but I am concerned about seeing an improvement over that 7 win ceiling we have been stuck in. Comments?

First quarter and part of the second looked pretty good. Then we pulled back and went into a shell.

We ran the option a few times and the shotgun a whole lot more.

Choice is a quality running back, still no answer on where he was in the 2nd half. I was at the game in the student section, so I can't personally talk about blocking (no view), but those who watched on TV say the OL really struggled in the second half.

As you know, the overall result of our offense was mostly the same.

What there is to look forward are two games against a DI-AA oppenent and a Sun Belt opponent. This will hopefully give Nix and the offense a chance to flex their muscles a bit and flesh out the playbook. Hopefully.

Guys, I also think that we got tired in the second half, both OL and DL. Was it poor conditioning? Was it wearing down against bigger and stronger opposition? Was it lack of depth? Probably a little of all 3.

On O it was putting the line in an impossible situation. We were running one formation, with only one back. We weren't using the TE or anything over the middle. The ND LBs were free to do whatever they felt like. There's no way 5 OL and a TE can handle 4 DL and 3 LBs guys. Simply no way.

The DL did wear down and I'm wondering where our depth went. You need to use all you players if you're going to play high pressure all game long.

ncjacket: I'm in total agreement here.....already stated the same thing in WTTE.

All I have to say about our Sunbelt opponnent, Troy, is "Yikes!".

Not to be negative, but we're poised to have a great year this year, and Troy could ruin it.
