My first look at Reggie Ball on Saturday was on the walk to the stadium. He was all smiles and very engaging with alumni and friends. He and the other ten seniors seemed quite moved during pre-game festivities.

First pass he throws an INT, then comes back to throw 3 TD's and plays a fine half overall.

Most important, when TB throws a TD pass Reggie is the first off the bench to greet Taylor. He stayed positive and encouraging to Bennet and the 2nd and 3rd teamers all day long.

The last look was seeing Reggie hang back from the team just a little bit as they sang the Ramblin Wreck. He looked as if he really wanted to take it all in one last time.

This player has given us much to cheer as well as quite a few groans in his career. He has shown a fiery spirit in interviews and on the field; sometimes that has hurt him. But, this young man has given us four years of good effort. He was a class act on his Senior Day. I wish him the best in his last three games as a Yellow Jacket and in all of his future endeavors.

Great post. I am very thankful to Reggie for all he has given Tech. I listened to Lil Joe on the radio before the game and he was wishing for a good day on the field for Reggie after all he has gone through, and that is exactly what he got. His competitive spirit has meant so much to this team.

Very nice post! I would love nothing more than for Reggie to have 3 more solid games en route to becoming GT's all-time winningest QB.

Gailey had some fine praise on the post-game show for Reggie. Talked about he was most proud of the man Reggie has become in the last 4 years. Isn't that what we want most out of these young men, afterall?

I want to beat UGA solely so Reggie Ball can have this victory. I don't think there is a man alive who wants it more.

From a purely clinical point of view, I'm not one of his biggest fans. But I certainly understand that he came to play every Saturday (and Thursday) for four years and played his heart out. He has a lot to be proud of during his career and I tip my hat to him. I can only imagine what was going through each of the seniors' minds at the end of Senior Day at Grant Field.

Reggie bleeds for GT, just like us. He is one helluva Rambling Wreck. I love to watch Reggie, Joe, and Calvin walk out on the field in advance of the whole team. Friends, those are WARRIORS that wear the White and Gold just like us. I hurt when they or any team member hurts. And I rejoice when they rejoice. I pray for them every day for a spirit of family unity in which there is no one wearing the White and Gold who is on the outside looking in. That kind of unity breeds synergism, and we have been hearing reports about its occurring all season. I believe the Lord is answering those prayers. Now I am looking with anticipation to see if the Lord will answer our run-the-table prayers.

You are absolutely right. This is reggie's last chance to beat the Ball lickers and I have a feeling that he will come through with his best performance as a Yellow Jacket taking home the Governor's Cup and some hedge trimmings in the process.

What's changed?
Do you think any of these posters (besides you) would change what they've said?

FWIW, I salute the man for choosing Tech and leaving everything he had on the field. I wish we could have won more games under RB (and had fewer heartbreaks), but he's won more than he's lost and that ain't all bad.

Why did you dredge up this old thread? Oh, yes, so you can get another jab at a student-athlete. Piss on you.

I don't think so. Most people never thought he was a great QB, just that he's a hard nosed player. I doubt anyone's opinion has changed at all really. We just wish he hadn't played so poorly. What is has changed is his "legacy" if you can say a college qb has one. Now no matter what else is said, "he never beat ugag" will be part of the description.

Can't say my opinion has changed much since before the UGA game.

My #1 key to the game:

Whether or not Reggie plays with a calm demeanor. There is no more pressure on any QB in the country than there is on Reggie, a four year starter, who's never beaten UGA, who's got a 3 year history of game changing errors in the UGA game, and who's got a reputation of losing his cool and making poor decisions.

Nobody's opinion changed. I've been clammoring for a new quarterback going back to the Clemson game. But to suggest any athlete that puts as much on the field as Reggie isn't loved just because he's second string is a totally foolish attitude.

I'm sure there were plenty of threads you could bring back from the dead to prove us wrong, but this isn't one of them.

Reggie still left everything on the field for four years and he played hurting for a couple of games this year. While I take exception to some of his behavior, I still have to give credit to him for his effort.

I started the post and I stand by it. I have been deeply disappointed in the last two games and the way Reggie and the offense have played. But, I applaud Reggie for hanging in there for four years, giving us his best, and trying to win. He is a four year Tech starter and deserves respect. I wanted him to go out with three great wins. Now, I just hope he goes out with one against WVU.

Nothing has changed. Reggie is still a senior and you are still a curmudgeon.
