Remember the time UCF beat Bama in Tuscaloosa?

Russell uniforms for the win.

That Alabama era also being a prime example of it doesn’t matter how big of a brand name you are, without a top tier coach you’re a maybe hit the conference title game good.

2000 with Mike Dubose, hard to believe that Bama was ranked #3 in the nation in the preseason polls. Dubose was SEC coach of the year in 1999 and fired in 2000. Wild times.

Bama played @ UCLA for the first game. A house/trailer was burning down a in an Alabama town and the owner got home just in time to run past the fire fighters, into the burning building, and came out covered in smoke and waving two tickets. It made local and I think national news.

People tend to have a short memory or sometimes are too young to have been around those years when the current powerhouse teams were not very good. In 1996, Clemson lost to Syracuse in the Gator Bowl 41-0.

Hey, in 2012 Clemson lost to West Virginia in the Orange Bowl 70-33.

Will never happen again to a program that has water slides and state of the art miniature golf courses.
Will happen again as soon as Dabo gets old and tired and/or retires and is replaced by someone not as good...

Crazy how far we’ve come in production quality. This is the midpoint from 1980 to today but looks much closer to 1980 in quality.

I am pretty sure on that same day we beat Clemson on the Kelly Campbell one arm grab in the endzone.

I remember when an Urban Meyer coached Utah team beat the ever-loving öööö out of Alabama in a bowl game. So what?

I missed the end of that game because I had tickets to the premiere of “The Legend of Bagger Vance” here in Savannah. To this day it remains one of my life’s most considerable regrets.
